government should recruit tamil youth into the forces

tamils should recruit sinhala youth to set off claymores against the sinhala army

my tamil realtives in the east have always mentioned that the trinco tamils are more patriotic than the northern tamils. they have a lower population (only half a million tamils in east), but there are still about 5,000 tigers

sinhalas are now going to grab land and houses from poor tamil civilians at gunpoint, like pigs. it is a setback against tamils who have been driven out of their homes and injured by sinhala army, but i think there are few claymores on the way against your sinhalas. dont celebrate too much that many tamils are now without homes

Sri Lanka captures town as thousands flee
By Simon Gardner

COLOMBO (Reuters) - Sri Lanka's military captured a strategic rebel-held town in the island's restive east on Friday as more than 10,000 refugees fled the area and Tamil Tiger rebels cut a retreat after weeks under siege.
The capture of Vakarai -- a town around 240 km (150 miles) northeast of Colombo that belongs to the rebels under the terms of a tattered 2002 cease-fire -- comes after weeks of fierce fighting between the Tigers and the military, who have vowed to evict them from the east altogether.
'Vakarai has fallen,' said military spokesman Brigadier Prasad Samarasinghe. 'They are withdrawing to the north.'
'We are checking the civilians who are fleeing in case the Tigers have infiltrated them and try to come and attack government areas,' he added. 'We want to help the civilians get back to resettle there immediately.'
Nordic truce monitors confirmed Vakarai had fallen.
There was little in the way of resistance, aside from some small arms and mortar fire. The military had recovered one rebel body so far, while nine other Tiger fighters were killed in a separate clash further south in Batticaloa district.
The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) were not immediately available for comment.
Some on foot, others on tractors, thousands of refugees left the northeastern coast town of Vakarai at dawn and headed south towards government-held territory a few miles away, some carrying white flags.
'Some of the people are making their way down the coast, others are coming through jungle in vehicles,' said Selvaraj Jeyaraj, project coordinator for the Italian Red Cross, told Reuters by telephone from the eastern district of Batticaloa.
'We are talking about 12,000 internally displaced, more or less,' he added. Around 5,000 people had reached a main army checkpoint, while 3,000 others were stuck further inland, unable to cross a large river

So, you are saying that tamils are minority in the east and want to have power there? Aren't you contradicting yourself?

That is why I said that govt should work hard to bring normalcy to the area Mr. Einstein. That means, allowing them to go back to their homes. If there is no war, they won't be displaced. You can't have both war and normalcy. You have to sacrifice certain things when you support a war. Of course you are sitting in a foreign land. Silly me.

i am saying there are fewer eastern tamils than northern

the point is support for LTTE is stronger than ever, when i went to trinco last year and many ordniary looking tamils are helping to set off claymore against your sinhala army

that is one thing you lot will never be able to stop

Are you saying that some of the civilians who were killed in the battle are not really civilians?

against your sinhala army

It is SriLankan army. Late Col Mutalif was not Sinhalese FYI. There are many non-sinhala in the army.

Well greetings to my GoSL zombie friend, don't wish to interupt your celebrations over another succesful ethnic cleanising but I have a question for you all:

- The civilians were held hostage by the LTTE and couldn't wait for the GoSL to 'liberate' them.

- Now the GoSL has apparently 'liberated' them.

WHY ARE THEY STILL RUNNING?
