Good morning Berty,

I am glad you talked. Well, I'm not going to answer to your last post for me because I don't want to.

Just have look,

This post is even in Saint's profile as one of the favorites.

As you can see we are having our so called nice conversations for sometime now, as I told you yesterday you need to work on your welcome speech, other than that I can say we are alright.

They capture teens around 15 and disrupt their education and keep them forcibly for few years. With in few years they pass 18 year barrier and by then they have no skill to look for alternative life other than work for LTTE.

So you imply there is no boys aruond 15 years in schools in atleast LTTE controlled areas. Get statistics from your Dept of Education man.

You have a point. That is what LTTE does. They capture teens around 15 and disrupt their education and keep them forcibly for few years. With in few years they pass 18 year barrier and by then they have no skill to look for alternative life other than work for LTTE.

all what you guys are doing is simply justifying an unknown and making assumption that will sound sweet to your own ears..

The heading is mis leading..most of the common sri lankans think when you say child soldiers they are basically 15 or less!Keep going guys..support eachother and if that makes you happy laugh and be happy!

Reading alone is not enough, you need to understand what you read. Nowhere in my post, I implied that LTTE captures almost all 15 year old teens in NE region. try to make some sense when you reply to someone else post.

Berty,

looking at the whole child conscription history of the LTTE, noone needs more proof these days.
And your argument amazes me in that if this was a child soldier conscripted when he was a child, he would have taken his life rather than saying that he wanna go home!

I see you are good at mind reading and also good at visualizing.

But your visualizing might not work in the current context as the LTTE has grown limpless during the last few years in their head hunt for true combatants. They are in a hurry to recruit, so they recruit children and they are pushed in to combats and expect them to fight or if captured commit sicide!!

And being a good LTTE loyalist (this I presume, pardon me), you expect so too!!

Good old days berty good old days!!

Seems like the clock isn't going backwards.

Pharoah

sinhala army doesnt regard tamils as part of their population so stop your jibbering

wrong again - tamils are Sri Lankans and unless LTTE terrorosts bearing arms (in which case they should be shot on sight) the army protects all Sri lankans.

tamil children are not sri lankan children, most tamils call themselves tamil and not sri lankan, ulike sinhalas who often say they are sri lankan

Really - Tamils when they -removed- up suddenly remember they are 'Sri Lankan' other times they are Tamil.

I see you have the WE tamil disease as well. Unless TAMIL is a country and Tamils have passports from this TAMIL country SL Tamils are SRI LANKANS. We are proud to associate ourselves with our motherland. Maybe you are confused or do not understand this patriotism as i am guessing you have foreign citizenship - thats OK so you are a UK/US/Canadian/Australian/Other of Tamil origin. Have a good life there and you can call yourself Tamil or Timbucktoo for all we care - forget about SL if you are no longer a citizen of SL.

Title is misleading. Even I surprised when I read about 20 year child soldiers. But here we were talking about something else. In a nutshell, I was referring to strategies of LTTE to recruit children and how to keep them in their force.

the ongoing attempt by the world body to end the global scourge of recruiting children as soldiers, along with other violations of children in times of conflict.

Recruiting or abducting children either by either by SLA on behalf of the Karuna' Group or by LTTE is criminal. Even if these children produced at the 'weekly defence news briefing in Colombo' is genuine, because it could well be a usual propaganda exercise, the SLA also must be forced to stop their duplicity in this type of criminal activities.

Asking the UNICEF for evidence from one source while accepting every accusation made against the other alleged party is hypocracy and placing the those who gave the evidence at the mercy of SLA/Karuna/STF.
