18th January 2007 - 00:05 S.L.T
Federation of National Organizations (FNO) which consists of 26 trade unions and 12 students? unions has decided to launch a massive protest campaign under the theme ?Revoke CFA to genuinely defeat tiger terrorism! Remove Norway from pseudo peace role! and
Reject fictitious solutions of devolution of power!
The decision has been taken by FNO after a discussion held with trade unions and students? unions yesterday in Colombo
In the discussion held under the chairmanship of Dr. Gunadasa Amaraskera, convener of FNO, it was stated that on 22nd February CFA would be five years old and if it exists beyond that date the unitary state and territorial integrity of the country would be jeopardized. Dr. Amarasekera said existence of CFA for five years would aid the tiger terrorists? attempt to establish a separate state. He also emphasized that the Government should be pressurized to reject the set of solutions put forward by Minister Tissa Vitharana to the APRC.
