Allan Rock - LTTE connection bared
Wednesday, 17 January 2007 - 6:04 PM SL Time

Allan Rock, Special Advisor to the United Nations Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict on Sri Lanka, and top level international agents of the Liberation Tiger Tamil Eelam [LTTE] are very close friends the Sunday Standard learns from Canada.

According to our sources in Canada, there is a very close friendship between Alan Rock and lots of LTTE front organisations and their agents, who are directly involved in raising funds for the LTTE in the Tamil Diaspora of Canada.
One such organization is the Eelam Student Society of Waterloo University, Toronto, led by `Waterloo Suresh` alias Suresh Sriskandarajah, with over three hundred members.

Waterloo Suresh is an electrical engineering graduate who loves hip-hop and snowboarding and has twice come down for humanitarian projects. The 26-year-old was arrested by Canadian Police last August for smuggling arms. He directly reported to Shanmugalingam Sivasankaran [45] alias Pottu Amman, head of LTTE intelligence, as revealed by FBI investigations.

`Allan Rock and the Eelam Society Students have been very close friends, including Waterloo Suresh and his operations team,` our reliable sources said.

Allan Rock at one time worked as a Minister under the Liberal government led by Paul Edgar Philippe Martin which lost the parliament elections last year. The Conservative party, under Stephen Joseph Harper, that came into power called for the banning of the LTTE.

The Sunday Standard received photographs of the Liberal party convention held a few months ago. Alan Rock and top level party representatives including former Prime Minister Paul Martin attended the convention; also in attendance were LTTE agents Parthi Kandawel, Theepan Vigneswaran, Senthoo, Sukeevan Kailayapathy and Suthan, who are fundraisers for the LTTE in Canada. (We have more information about this event and there friendship.)

However Allan Rock had blamed the Government of Sri Lanka and TMVP better known as the Karuna faction, for recruiting children soldiers in a report released after a 10 day visit to Sri Lanka last year.

`The mission found that the so-called Karuna faction continued to abduct children in government-controlled areas of the East, particularly Batticaloa district. Since May of last year, 135 cases of under-age recruitment by abduction have been reported to UNICEF, with evidence that this trend is accelerating,` he said.

`The mission also discovered a disturbing development involving the Karuna abductions. It found strong and credible evidence that certain elements of the government security forces are supporting and sometimes participating in the abductions and forced recruitment of children by the Karuna faction` he blamed to the government and the TMVP.

However, child recruitment in Sri Lanka and around the world is expected to be discussed tomorrow, 15 January at the United Nations Security Council general meeting. Mrs. Radhika Coomaraswamy, appointed by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki -Moon as Under-Secretary-General, Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict, will be ready with a new report for the Security Council.

The unfair attack on UN envoy Allan Rock - By D.B.S. Jeyaraj
December 2nd, 2006

Allan Rock, former Canadian cabinet minister and envoy to the United Nations, has been at the receiving end of a vicious ,vilification campaign in Sri Lanka. The? patriotic hawks? are attacking him in parliament and from political platforms. In typical Lankan style his effigy is being taken out in procession and burnt. One was seen hanging from a tree in front of a UN office in Colombo.

May be you are right! This all could be wrong information but

We say in sinhalese :
'Balloth Ekka Nida Gaththoth Makkan Ekka Thama Nagitinna Wenne'

If you lie down with dogs, you wake up with fleas...
Which i think is appropriate in Allan Rock's case.

LOL.. a bunch of students in Waterloo university are 'top level international agents of the LTTE' ???

You Yaks really need to get a life.. Over 90% of Tamils want Eelam, we openly support the LTTE to attain that goal, that doesn't mean we are LTTE.. Canadian constitution doesn't prevent us from supporting a liberation struggle, it does not penalize one for holding such beliefs, if fact it gurantees protection of those who hold such beliefs. Protection from persecution and intimidation by other groups. The Canadian parliamentarians have a responsibility to hear the voice of the people, to hear our concerns and needs, and as a parliamentarin Allen Rock is expected to attend such functions and gatherings. Not just Allen Rock even the Prime ministers and premiers have a responsibility to attend.

It would be foolish to measure real democracies using the failed democrazy of Sri Lanka as the yardstick. True democracies respect the rights and wishes of their minorities, and have a responsiblity to hear their concerns and act to alleviate them.

This article is absolutely juvenile, a prime example of the standard of Journalism that thrives in a failed, miserable, destructive and paranoid nation.
