sri lanka failed state-sorry state
Well, I guess SL has been a unique state up to now. You see, many a country would have succumbed to the economic and social pressures, if they were to ever face a 30 year long terrorist conflict like SL had, but SL still survives. A tsunami came, SL ppl recovered and sprang back to life sooner than most western countries expected. It was predicted that epidemics will whack the nation after tsunami, yet this small islands health service, proved them wrong. Like when Kathrina came, it took the US by surprise and ultimately proved even the mighty US gave in to the pressures. IMF and other world economic bodies predicted SL would go bankrupt decades ago, yet they find SL is still going on. Fundamentalist catholic church tried many times to disrupt the Bhuddhist, Muslim, Tamil harmony by spreading their fundamentalism, yet SL is still on its legs going strong. Why? That is the biigest dilemma of the western countries.
There is a hidden barrier against allienation of SL by any force, and if you know what I mean, anyone will see and be amazed how this samll nation could survive all these mammoth blunders of economic, social and political stupidity and fundamentalist international fingering.
I can go on, but let me say again that, I personally belive that SL is having that 6th sense kind of fool-proof protection from somewhere, and it will not be that easy for the anti-SL forces to dominate SL for a long time to come.

Do you know how many Tamil friends I have and how many times we made/tricked our Muslim friends to eat pork in our hostel. Remember I have great Tamil buddies, who are genuine friend. |

president must be protected by any means . people like lasantha don't understand diff between politics and national security . so I don't mind even if he goes in a white van .
The problem is they are barking at the wrong TREE, (Lasantha) what he reported was the TRUTH, yes MR has to be protected as the Leader but why can't they get the guy who actually leaked the Bunker story..It has to be one of his close aides!! it is like in the name of LTTE you kill an innocent Tamil in colombo..
I do not agree malli the white van way of justice, no one can decide whether someone is guilty or not other than the Law/Courts. Let us not put an innocent man to death! |
