`The Social Security Board under the Social Services Department is authorized to succeed forward with this scheme. They are now looking in to imposing a pension scheme according to the relevant working period,` said Mr. Ganegala.
He added that they will advertise in the newspapers referring to the pension scheme in which the journalists with the applicable qualifications will be requested to forward their applications to the authorities or to the Working Journalists` Association.
He further said that within two months after summoning the applications the scheme will be implemented.
