FYI, we already tried the 'ahimsa' way for more than 3 dacades and only after it failed miserably, was the armed resistance born.
Ghandhi choose the 'ahimsa' method against the brits, because he knew their mentality, they saw themselves as morally superior and civilized than the Indians, and what Ghandhi was doing was very upsetting to their superiority beliefs. Ghandhi's ahimsa vazhi won't even work with the present day Indians, let alone the Sinhalese. |

But use of arm to defend is honest, and use of arms to kill innocents is barbaric.

i personally think tamils should act like the ANC and nelson mandella and only target the sinhala racist army and leave sinhala civilians alone. that way the world will accept the tamils, like they eventuallly accepted the ANC
look at south africa now. the blacks have control over the country and are living freely. |

as i said in my previous post i dont like civilians being targeted. NO two words there. I am simply commenting on what i think happened IMHO and giving an explanation. i hope i am wrong and would be glad to be proved wrong (i guess proving who did it is out of the question). sometimes reality is scary.
look at south africa now. the blacks have control over the country and are living freely.

i agree with your first part and will comment on this.
Blacks are the Majority in South africa. most of the world didnt deal with the aparthied regime eventhough the whites ran the country.
this is not the case in lanka plus Bush's WAR on terror scam has LUMPED everyone (freedom fighters/terrorists) into one basket. basically we are living in a different ERA.
the IC has been blind. they couldve punished the GOSL by withholding funds BUT didnt do it.
The americans also want Trinco as a Forward base looking into the Far east. at present they have the base in Diego Gracia and its got to be vacated.

Yeah keep dreaming. What do you think the tamils did from 1947 to 1972. When was the LTTE born ?. Have you forgotten the SJV and the other leaders sathya graha. Do you know what happend to them in front of the Jaffan Kacheri.
The south only understands VIOLENCE not NON-VIOLENCE. Also blacks are a majority in South Africa. The world had pretty much shut its doors from trading with South Africa. You go and convince IC to shut all trading operations with Sri Lanka then we can think of doing the same too.
Keep dreaming mate about your ANC non violence!!. hahaha. Why dont you fight it there then. |

there are few people who think tamils should kill sinhala civilians, i think it is not a good idea. thats all.
