Y.A.S.Gnanam dies recently. He would have remembered how his 'St. Anthony's Hardware Store' went up in flames and how President Premadasa put his up in Oberoi Hotels for months.
The Rich Tamil Businessmen can get favors from the Govt. But what about the poor up country estate workers. They have to look after themselves. Now this could be what the LTTE intends by these bombs. Antagonize the Sinhalese and make them go berserk and kill more innocent estate workers and they go on strike and the tea production is slowed to a crawl that would disrupt the export economy and make the Govt come to the table for more talks. I don?t think it is going to work with Mahinda. |

A vicious cycle.
Prabhakaran does not want peace. He closed the anicut at Mavilaru to start this war. The war began. They lost Sampoor. From civilian areas LTTE continues to fire artilleries at SLA positions further away from FDL . GOSL retaliates. Civilians get killed too, LTTE loosing ground. Sea Tigers launch attacks at SLN , and SLA carry out areal bombing at sea Tiger bases , civilians become victims again .
LTTE tried to kill specific targets the Army commander and the defense secretary with suicide carders but failed but civilians died. Now trying non specific targets, civilians with suicide carders.
Do They want to show that in this war with GOSL Tamil civilians should not die ?
Then in the first place there should not be a war. If LTTE allows civilians to live in their LTTE controlled territory and wage a war the civilian deaths are inevitable. So do the civilians in the South with suicide attacks.
GOSL is open for peace talks. LTTE left the table in 2003. LTTE wanted a CF not for negotiations but to strengthen their military capabilities. Before they proposed the ISGA , GOSL brought a frame work to carry out administrative work in the North and East involving the LTTE under the CFA. LTTE rejected it and brought the ISGA few months later and wanted the GOSL to accept that. When GOSL refused LTTE left the table. Is this negotiations? One has to find a compromise between proposals for peace to work.
Prabhakaran and LTTE have no genuine intention to find a political solution to this problem. Prabhakaran believes that he could carve a piece out of Sri Lanka for his own survival if he continues to wage the war bringing more and more Tamil civilian deaths and the IC will press the GOSL to divide the country . Well he is bloody wrong as well as the Tamil Diaspora who finance and nurture LTTE /Tamil Terrorism in Sri Lanka.

What is the different between sourhern sinhalese and other sinhalese?? Are they special in any way??
Southern Sinhalese has 3 legs and other Sinhalese has 2 1/2 legs. Special in them is both are limping:):):)
