GREAT question. I am a sri lankan. Oh BTW forgot that spieces doesnt exist isnt it. You got to be singhalese or tamil right. Hmmm.... so which one am i ?.
I support both to FIGHT!!. Both should FIGHT at whatever cost. Thats what I support. I dont want neither one to win or lose. I want them to fight till the whole of Sri lanka becomes a wasteland with bodies everywhere. The whole country should have trenches, check points, curfew, refugee camps and beg for food from IC, red cross. I want the whole of sri lanka to become a bunch of beggers living in refugee camps all the way from Jaffna to Hambantota.

I have talked with Sinhalese professors here in Canada. I asked why you silence. They explained the same thing to me. Their opinion on both sides was exactly the same as yours.
Most probably, they cannot even think away from fighting because of narrow minded and hatred feeling. But when I talked with an old lady said, 'this world is temporarily one. Everybody must enjoy the life peacefully and nicely. If both Tamils and shnaglese have mutual understanding, this not a big problem'. |

you are not realistic, there will never be peace in sri lanka as sinhala side will never be satisfied, after the war is over they will want all districts to be tamil majority, then try and convert all tamils to sinhalas, then these paranoid goons will try attack tamil nadu
be realistic, and even as a sinhala supporter that you are just express your true opinions, not waffle and jibbering in this forum.

Aj07, I like your analysis, but in your frustration at the situation you are not taking it a step further. now you may say it is just one more 'goon' commenting, so be it but here is where I feel you are wrong:
Fighting at WHATEVER COST for separation even if that means the tamil population reduces to african level of poverty it doesnt matter but lets get separation.
This is not true, we were willing for a political solution within Sri Lanka, for several years running VP has repeated this theme. Should the Tamils just roll over and die when faced with no political solution and continued shadow warfare against them? This leads to the next point.
Neither does the LTTE have the skills, leadership to build collaborative relationship with the South to use the population against the corrupt government to bring change. The unforuntately needs policial, economic and social maturity.
How do you propose the LTTE create such a relationship with the south? When first and foremost the south is blinded by their hate filled media. Secondly the way such things are accomplished is through political campaigning, what happened to LTTE political cadres? Whome according to the CFA were to be allowed access to other areas as long as they were unarmed? The GoSL used their paramilitaries to attack these people and their offices, until eventually all were withdrawn.
So even if you achieve separation then you will be destitute.
The people of the NE are destitute now, it cannot get any worse. At least with a stable separation we expats can help invest in the new nation without fear of it all being destroyed in the next GoSL sortie.
You make it sound as if it was the Tamil people who brought about this calamity for the island. Remember it was the Sinhala mahavamasa mindset that brought about this situation, we would like nothing better than to live in peace with our equal rights protected.
But I do agree with you it is too late now for anything but war, obviously the Tamil people cannot just lay down their arms now. If we cannot defeat the Sinhala state now and secure our homeland we do not deserve it, thus that is all that is left. |

Diversion of attention from bombing civilians
Only when SL Govt is in some difficulties or Tamils are shown some compassion by the IC there are bombs, assassination attempts and suicide bombings in the South.
Military Intelligence is working overtime to divert attention from the horrific bombing of civilians in Mannar. Attempted 'suicide' bombing on Gotabhaya Rajapakse's convoy, shooting Mr Kadirkamar within the HSZ under the watchful eye of 40 Security Guards, bombing of buses are attempts by Deep Penetration Units and 'rogue' elements within the SF that work to demonise LTTE.
Why has there been not a single investigation or trial of any of these 'terrorist' activities. Who or what is the president scared of? Is it the truth or the identities of the perpetrators of these hyenas crimes? |

go to another country, even a 3rd world country and observe.
i have been around asia, africa and europe
the way things operate in other third world countries is 1000 times better than in colombo, the people, the way the country runs, the politicians and political situation, the public services, the freedom of speech
to be frank, your beloved sri lanka will never prosper, the reason is because of its citizens. this is something you need to accept
therefore stop saying 'its good to be a sri lankans', because it is not
