Issuing an ID is not a big thing. Even dogs get tags. But, this ID is for their (LTTE) benefit so that they can track and control people. Now they can document the donations from diaspora and the dreamland is out bounds to stingy ones. |

That is what I figure. In your case, you need a high tech SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope) to check the gender. LTTE doesn't have them. :) |

They did in 1989 too. Some guy send a second hand machine to LTTE area and started printing IDs. But after machine was broken, they have stopped it.
GOSL can search this ID to check LTTE loyalities. That way, GOSL can easiliy identify the criminal related Tamils.
ID = Identification Document?
Then why do we say ID card? |

Card can be a document. LTTE can perhaps do a cost saving measure by integrating the cyanide capsule to the ID card.
