Lett me this if the SLAF bombed LTTE base how come the victims are all civilians , children , women and old fok.
Maybe it is a special training camp for women and children and old people.
Maybe the LTTE thinks it is enough to beat the S___ out of the SLA.
What a shameful thing for the SLAF to do. With all that sophiscated equipment and air craft which the GoSL brags about.
Do we need all that equipment just to kill civilians?
Imagine not a single LTTE carder is killed. How come?
Very Staange
Maybe the SLAF already informed the LTTE B4 the air strike.
In which case the Officer in charge should be a trator and should be hung. |

Lion5den,
LTTE did not exactly stick to the CFA either did they???
Yes, both parties violated CFA, why go 40 days, the SLA must have vacated certain places by day 30, that wasn't coplied with either.
P-TOMS was just to GoSL and LTTE jointly administer the distribution of relief aid most of which was foreign and rehabilitate tyhe affected areas. Unless you show mutual respect you cannot enter into talks or agreements.
You would have known in the Northern Ireland Peace Talks though IRA was branded as a 'terrorist' organisation by both UK and Unionists, Sinn Fein, the political wing of IRA was treated at par with Unionists by UK and US governments. Jerry Adam was invited to White House to aid continued talks. Mutual respects are inevitable if you want to succeed in peace negotiations.
Even if you set aside CFA, what about BC- and SC- Pacts in which Tamil democratic leadership went extra mile to compromise with District Councils. They were sabotaged for the same reason other solutions are jettitioned, namely. division of the country.
Can you point at any country that was divided after giving federalism to solve ethnic problems? It is the refusal to set up genuine federalism ended up in separation. Bombing one's province ended up in division. Edited By - nirupam - 4 Jan 2007 07:27:20 GMT |

Nirupam - so why didnt LTTE take the initiative and talk about a federal solution and how such a plan could be implemented. If LTTE had gone on the front foot like that then the pressure would have been on the GOSL to respond and discuss. then perhaps those talks could have been Step 1 in establishing something. Why did they make A-9 an issue and effectively scuttle the talks?
Talk about mutual respect - the GOSL have gone so far as not banning LTTE, providing safe travel for LTTE terrorists to attend peace talks etc just to name a couple of points - I think GOSL showed some willingness to engage in dialogue. LTTE used every ceasefire to rearm and go back to square one. Like you said - the word is mutual - not one way. Edited By - Lion5Den - 5 Jan 2007 02:13:22 GMT |
