Vishmitha

Piribaharan seperated a nation who should have fought together for their liberation from oppertunitist politicians in North and South.

Yea right! Nice try, but the Singhala racism even refused to give the Tamils a district board. D.Senanayaka didn't refuse to share the Tsunami aid with the Tamils, but the present Singhalese and their yellow robed Ayatollahs prevented it. There is no way the Tamils can get any negotiated settlement with the Singhalese. The Singhala racism is much more deep rooted than anyone can imagine.

What proof do you have on this?

What kind of proof do you want? Are you such a naive to think that an organization like the LTTE can survive without the public support? Do you think any organziation can survive without the support base?

Don't you know that the Tamils from Malaysia to Mauritius and Canada to south Africa raised their voice for Prabahkaran?

Why do you think Nelson Mandela refused to attend the Sorry Lankan Independence day celebration? Do you know that he refused the inviataion of Sorry Lankan president, due to the influential South African Tamils, who pressured him not to attend the ceremony in Colombo.

Even though, LTTE is banned in Malasyia, the Malaysian Tamil leader shared his solidarity with the LTTE in the Malaysian parliament this year. Haven't you seen the pictures of Mauritian, Canadian and European Tamils expressing their admiration for Prabahakaran? There are plenty of them in Google.

Eventhough, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu cannot openly support the banned LTTE, his own daughter and son have expressed their admiration for Prabhakaran and Mr. Karunanithi openly said that he will be the happiest person if Tamil Eelam separate from Sri Lanka.

Many Tamil Nadu leaders are openly expressing their love and support for Pirabahakaran and they have prevented Mahinda from landing anywhere in South India. Now tell me, what other proof you need?

Why does this problem remain unresolved for last 5 decades?

The polarised media and Buddhist Fundamentalism are the main causes.

For example the Island just gives the mlitary vertion without any reference to civilian casulties. People may call it racism or bias, whatever the reason may be 14 or 15 Tamils death is no concern for this Sinhalese medium.

In other countries the media scritinise the politicians and the nDefence Minister is called upon to answer the critism, but, in Sri Lanka either the media deny the civilian deaths or justify saying they are LTTE cadres accusing the international media, the NGO's or SLMM that report the facts.

Is this true!!

Government Defence Spokesperson, Minister Keheliya Rambukwella did not deny there was a plan to arrest the Editor of The Sunday Leader last week and cautioned the media of providing information to the terrorists even unwittingly because of reports that the Tigers may have in their possession at least three aircraft ....

Swathi,

The Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapakse wanted the CID to arrest the editor though the attorney general was against it saying it was against the law. The president intervened and stopped the arrest knowing the repercussions in the outside world.

Saleemtariq:

According to miltary spokesman those killed may be child soldiers. You know everything is twisted here. How are they justifying children even at the age of 3 or 4 to be child soldiers.

You may also have read about Army Commanders msg that terrorists will be wiped out from east in a couple of months & thereafter north. What does this mean? This is called ethnic cleansing...kill as many innocent civilians as you can!!

Just out of curiosity - a forum member (Sinhalese) posted earlier about having a Tamil girlfriend. Pro LTTErs were up in arms ... I guess the real racists have spoken.

Whenever, SLAF bombs to LTTE targets LTTE used to tell the world that Airforce kill innocent civilians. Now it is a habit, but military must keep attacking LTTE targets whenever possible. The world very well know the accuracy of LTTE stories and therefore military forces should not be worried about LTTE propaganda.
