LTTE leadership made three strategic mistakes last year in triggering the military operations from the armed forces. All in the east. The LTTE's tactically weak sector. The first was the attack on the Army Commander. It provided an excuse for the military to pound LTTE positions intermittently from air and ground since April 2006. The second one was the blocking of Mavil Aru. which gave the govt. legitimate reason to launch a military offensive. Lastly, the attacks on Trincomalee and naval vessels. LTTE could not have timed its military escalation worse.
LTTE's main operation to capture Jaffna are yet to come this year.

I agree with the satement that both the tamil extremists warmongers such as prabhakaran and the LTTE goons and the LTTE supporters (especially those in the diaspora)and the sinhalese extremists who block any compromise political solutions such as devolution are both to blame for the present state of this conflict.
