What I am not sure is if what you said was the case OR if you have visited both the Brothel and the 'Carnival Ice Cream' too much, for you to become confused on who is Kusuma and who is Kumari. After all, people love Carnival because of their different flavours...:)

Instead of advising others, why dont get YOURSELF some education. I know these days they finalize taking children to Grade one. So you will not obviously get any place in Royal, Ananda or Nalada colleges. But I am sure the teachers at some school like Modara Central might be able to give you a good first year education to Poruthotage baba..

Because the majority in the CC opposed my suggestion on joining the government and undertaking more responsibility and contesting the local elections as an alliance I felt I could not remain in the CC any more.
Well, there is the answer. Comrade Nandana's resigning from the CC is over the JVP not contesting the local elections with the SLFP. He says earlier he is also a great supporter of Mahinda's presidency. So it is clear that this is not a left wing tendency within the JVP but rather a right opportunist one.
Comrade Nandana is not resigning his post over the JVP supporting a a racist coolie capitalist government, no rather he is resigning over the JVP not crawling even more deeply into the coolie capitalists backsides.
Comrade Nandana has fallen prey to a classic case of parliamentary cretenism - that disease that Lenin described that afflicts some 'socialist' members of parliament. Becomining a parliamentary cretin entails slowly becoming the capitalist politicians that you first condemned in the name of 'realism' and other such weighty isms.
The Somawansa-Weerawansa leadership should take a careful look at what happened to other left parties in SL that bedded down with the SLFP in the pursuit of parliamentary power/ defeating the UNP, they usually wake up the next morning to find their principles and their memberships gone.
But it looks like the major splits in the JVP will first be to the right, with the likes of COmrade Nandana defecting to the SLFP. A proleterian tendency within the party would be a welcome development, one that is built on a vision of a united class struggle of all toilers against imperialist capitalism. The current communalist, pro capitalist opportunist policies of the JVP will guarantee that it is they that end up working the streets for the SLFP. |
