Anura complains...

Tourism Minister Anura Bandaranaike has sent us the following comments on the caption of our main picture that appeared on page one of The Island yesterday.
`A photograph captioned, `Between you and me`, on your front page appearing this morning has a diabolically mischievous caption. The picture shows me talking to President Mahinda Rajapakse and you state in your caption `Sunethra Bandaranaike and Prime Minister Wickremanayake do not seem to be interested in what Anura is saying`. But my sister Sunethra and the Prime Minister are well bred persons and are not in the stupid habit of eavesdropping into others` conversations. Listening to others` conversation must be common to your newspaper.`

As I am out of The Island, I did not see the picture or read the caption.

Bandaranayake family with the exception SWRD himself, consider that:
(a) Sri Lanka belongs to them
(b) All Sri Lankans owe them significantly for saving the country and the nation; therefore they should not earn a living and they have the right to live and travel comfortably, all at state expenses.
The truth is:
(1) Bandaranayake family, including Sir Solomon sold our country to the British in exchange for titles, privileges etc.
(2) They, taking turns, ruined the Nation, the country and the Economy. They used foreign funds for their foreign education and now they have exploited the country and still continue to live in luxury without earning a living by way of working.
Yes, Sri Lankans must be among the most stupid people on earth for letting them, particularly people like Anura and Chandrika, to live in Luxury at state expenses.
