Thurstan rout Sri Sumangala by ten wickets

Thurstan began their Under 20 inter-school cricket season on a winning note when they routed Sri Sumangala Panadura by ten wickets in their match concluded at Thurstan grounds yesterday. The highlight of the match was the centuries scored by Charith Wickramaratne and Umesh Karunaratne.

Thurstan - 301 for 4 declared (Charith Wickramaratne 102, Umesh Karunaratne 101, Geeth Kumara 45, Shehan Perera 30) and 4 for no loss

Sri Sumangala - 149 (Tharindu Thushan 60.; Umesh Karunaratne 3 for 28, Shanaka Rangajeewa 2 for 17, Chamalka Gamage 2 for 25 ) and 152 (Shammika Heshan 50, Shan Dilruksha 31, Sudesh Umayanga 26.; Buddhi Samarawickrama 3 for 36, Chamalka Gamage 2 for 19, Umesh Karunaratne 2 for 42 )

The Under 20 inter-school cricket match between Isipathana and De Mazenod Kandana concluded at the BRC grounds yesterday ended in a tame draw.

De Mazenod - 241 for 9 declared (Nilushan Nonis 62, Denuwan Fernando 41, Thushan Soysa 34, Yohan Fernando 32.; Sachith Jayasinghe 2 for 16, Damindu Kanishka 2 for 59.) and 85 for 2 (Vineetha Padmalal 29, Nilushan Nonis 30 n.o.)

Roayl Panadura and Taxila Central figured in a drab draw in their Under 20 inter-school cricket encounter which concluded at the Panadura Esplanade yesterday.

St Thomas Matara were 42 for 4 in reply to Nalanda`s score of 257 for 4 declared at the end of the first day`s play in the Under 20 inter-school cricket match played at Campbell Place. The match will be continued at 9. 30 a.m. today.
