We cannot beat this war everyday. We need a viable solution. There are many options open if we need to find a solution. If you want to honestly end this conflict you cannot say we don't need this federal solution, that federal solution - you need to have an open mind and say any solution other than the path of war. At the end of the day war breeds more hatred, more misunderstanding, more refugees, more poverty, more depriviation of libery to live!

Hashini dear, the more I read your posts the more respect I have for you, it is too bad that those in power do not think like you.

I was just reading an editorial/article on the 1987 Lanka accord I sent it to Mr. Brown not sure he will post it, but the similarities are so striking between then and now. At that time there was no honest will for an equitable solution from the government, they went ahead breaking the accord, Tamil civilians were still killed and 'disappeared' and India did nothing about it despite these being grave violations of the accord.

Just like that, the current and past sri lankan governments treated the CFA again as a tool for them to do as they please to the Tamils and extend their power and influence, so once again we are headed for war.

History, unfortunately forgotten by most here, has show that each war after such duplicity on the part of the government has ended up with the LTTE even stronger than before. However still many Tamils and Sinhala are going to die regardless, all because the Sinhala politicos have no genuine will to treat all minorities as equals.

Thambi had posted a good long article yesterday where when the Muslim MPs were talking with the defence secretary he had made a statement that 500 STF had died protecting the Muslims in the east. The Muslim MPs had gotten quite heated at that comment and blasted the secretary stating that 500 Sri Lankans had died defending other Sri Lankans, and it was this mentality of us versus them that is continuing the main conflict.

in general Sinhalese are peace loving people too. Did anyone told you it is not.

i think generally EVERYONE (well atleast the majority) in the world is peace loving. Its the environment and the circumstances that sometimes brings the BEST or Worst in people.

If needed, India will use tactical nuclear weapons in Wanni.
(NARAYAN SWAMI).
- That is the only viable solution.

Talks are foolish , unless LTTE renounce violence.
