Hashini, our problem is people who has the power to implement the measures you mentioned does not want to do so, bcs if they o it then they loose their authority to claim power. So it is beggars wound for them and they keep showing that o achieve their intentions.
In reality it is the Southern politicians fault. They are the democratic government. They need to come up with the solution and drag LTTE to nation building. By them marginalizing what could be done, what cannot be done they actually give lot of time for LTTE to prosper in their military agenda. If South was trust and viable, showed to the World that we are taking our extream efforts to corner LTTE for a democratic solution the situation would have been much better.
LTTE cannot get the power only thing they can do is demand. South is the only entity that can give the power - that they need to share. If most tamils rather have LTTE let LTTE take care of them. Give them state entity. With years the world will see what grandeur or failure LTTE did to its own people.
You can merge LTTE cadres to the military and the navy. I know the Idea might not be acceptable to sinhalese and the Tamils both, but there is no other way out. Give more percentage representation of Tamil military personnel in Tamil areas. There is nothing wrong with this when SLDF and the Ministry can keep a strong eye, a good infastructure to watch this out. It will be much cheaper to organize a new system to monitor this effor that spending billions of dollars to attack each other.
Establish different education means. SL can impliment state education and central curriculum. So, there are options for people. Then a child from Jaffna can come to Galle and vis versa. There is nothing wrong with it.
Options are many - if you really want to find an option. Or else LTTE and South politicans can always cheat us and build this psychosis of fear and hatred. It is the tamil people our there to get you, and it is the Sinhala people out there to get you. And then we all can detriorate many generations to come on this long standing ethnic conflict. Or, we can say enough is enough and find maybe not the perfect solution but the best options. With time, the right structure, solution, power will fall in to place. |

Maka,
India also has refused to accept even TNA as representative of Tamils. India has invited other Tamils political parties to take a lead role while implementing a political solution with the government.
Makko, keep doing what you do best!

| A Tamil guy sat next to me in the flight and he was going down to SL after five years. He has not been to SL for five years and going back with his sister, her husband and her little child. He is from Canada. We discussed about the problems that all of us face and it showed us what a myth we are following. Sadly we still go on the same path with out trying to make a difference. |

This question is worthless. The fact the matter is there is a war!
I cannot answer this question with an open mind. The war is 30 years and still going. I am less than 30!
I have never seen SL without war! Edited By - hashini - 25 Sep 2006 19:03:27 GMT |

gon part danwath nawaththala meka kiyawala balapann...
Sept 25, Colombo: India has invited representatives of three Tamil parties from Sri Lanka's northeast to New Delhi for an 'interaction' on the current situation in Sri Lanka.
An Indian newspaper quoting diplomatic sources said that Tamil United Liberation Front (TULF) leader V. Anandasangaree, his counterpart in the People's Liberation Organisation of Tamil Eelam (PLOTE), D. Siddharthan, and T. Sritharan of the Eelam People's Revolutionary Front (EPRLF-Padmanabha) are expected to arrive in New Delhi today.
Quoting one the three leaders, the paper said, ?Some time ago we had expressed our desire to visit India to exchange views on the prevailing situation as well as the possible role New Delhi could play in resolution of the ethnic conflict. We have just received a message asking us to reach New Delhi. At the moment we have no idea about the details of our itinerary and the authorities we could expect to meet in the course of our possibly three-day stay.?
The latest invitation came as the Indian Prime Minister denied a request made by a group of TNA MPs for a meeting with him.

| Hashini,it is a two way process. Intentions of LTTE was questioned so many times and a person with a rational mind would question the intentions of GOSL too. All the nice stories uttered by both parties has not solved the problems faced by Sri Lankans. So they have to work together to make a difference. |
