I am with you sis on the war issue. I don't think this is winnable as long as there is a considerble support for both parties. This is why I believe we need compromise but compromise is not as same as giving into terrorism to run the part.
I believe the conditions must be set so that the tamils can embrace that. But what we see now here is some tamils are being murdered by the the LTTE to close any anti-LTTE voices. Which is bit like killing UNPers to subjugate anti-GOSL voice. We cannot do that sis. We must respect all the humans irrespective of their personal faiths.
This is the drawback that LTTE has, they don't trust anti-Ltte tamils.
We need all the tamils to get behind one voice which is freedom not to be subjugated by the LTTE alone.

I don't represent anybody. I repreent myself. I am not saying you cannot have a bond, an individual bond vs a general idea. I lived in the east. There were many times I have sought help from people who support LTTE and their cadres. They didn't have a personal grudge against me as a person. The war media has twisted everything in to the person who read the war situation from outside the window. Tamil people surely must be getting along with SLA in Jaffna although i have no personal understanding of this. If you say so I am sure it is. Like wise in East, there are many Sinhalese who get along with Tamil, hardcore LTTE supporters. But teh general attitude of Sinhalese is that they are safe with the SLA and the general attitude of Tamils is that they are safe with the LTTE cadres. That is all i am trying to say.

Read my reply again. I never said LTTE are the Sole representitives of tamils. I said many Tamils recognize with LTTE. It is a question of Ours vs theres.
There are 49% SLs who did NOT vote for Mahinda. But they commonly accept mahinda to represent them. They might not like Mahinda but they recognize with him. |

Could not agree with you more!
LTTE claims they are representing Tamils but the question is how??
During last few weeks Tamil diaspora was worrying about the food situation in the North. When there is food shortage, diaspora blame on government. On the other hand, the same people fund LTTE to purchase arms and expect them to attack on SLA and also put the economy on hold. These people never asked LTTE to provide the basic facilities to the people who displaced in the North. If the tigers are representing Tamils, why they do not look after Tamils?
India also has refused to accept even TNA as representative of Tamils. India has invited other Tamils political parties to take a lead role while implementing a political solution with the government.
