Chandana,

Good for a lady who lives a luxury life here..

My home is a luxury home. But it was built on hard work by our whole family - led by me. I keep it clean and comfortable and am told attractive. But I do not do this through luxury goods. It is through everyday work - continuous process.

I do not have the luxury of time that the people I lived with have. This is because we are leading the younger generation into the era of democracy without losing the real values developed through the PRACTICE of autocracy. For example I do not have the luxury of depending on my children as my parallels in Northern Jaffna do. I have to develop independent systems for myself and yet facilitate for my children to be democratic and independent. One generation has to sacrifice for the younger ones to have improved life. I have also had to sacrifice my earned benefits through my Sri Lankan culture - towards integrating with other cultures in Australia - especially the White culture into which my children have married. NO I DO NOT HAVE THE LUXURY OF MONO-CULTURAL LIFE.

You say you were with the needy
2yrs back ?. In my friends place in yalpanum town??

Yalpanum town is far more luxurious than Mankerni in the East or Thunaivi in North.

You say
and what were those conditions

Ate thosa with sambar and satney
Slept on the floor on a mat?..

I do that here in Sydney and this includes sleeping on the floor regularly so I would not have difficulty connecting to those who do so due to lack of money.

You say
No one is abandoned they all hav a self respect?its VP the jungle rat which has deprived them of a bright life?

Not the ones I spent time with and got to KNOW. Must be your sambar and chutney friends with Indian connections.

Chandana,

Sri Lanka

yes i love it...

If you did you would recognize another who does. Love is Truth. When you are true to yourself and a part of that self is Sri Lankan - irrespective race or age or gender - then you love Sri Lanka. That is how I identify true Sri Lankans. The question is do you feel more Sinhalese than Sri Lankan. Your expressions say you are.

Chandana,

u re a liar...
never true to your heart...

If that is a genuine expression from your heart - then we do not have anything more to say to each other. We just make public statements - which the other may take or leave

Chandana, looks busy writing.
Best luck.

Swathi;
2. Dont wish VP will be killed by a suicide bomber...even if it happens LTTE is not going to be finished like what happened to JVP leader.

You know, JVP became more powerful, after it lost Vijevira, and after it entered into politics.

I think LTTE will do well, when it moves into politics, with or without VP.

Tamils will decide future of VP, if he stops the war.
SLA or LTTE will decide if he continues the war.

Siva,

You say
I remember growing up we were never pampered. My parents however would spend any amount of money on our education. I now have a little one of my own, and it looks like I will be following in my parents footsteps :-) The value of a good education is priceless

IT IS NOW OUR TURN TO PASS ON THAT EDUCATIONAL HERITAGE TO OUR CHILDREN. ALSO, TO LEARN ALL LANGUAGES OF OUR ENVIRONMENT OR LIMIT OUR PHYSICAL INTERACTIONS TO THOSE WHO HAVE THE NATURAL PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES THAT WE HAVE. WITH HIGHER EDUCATION WE MUST ALSO CONNECT FIRST THROUGH OUR PROFESSIONAL VALUES BEFORE OUR BIRTH ATTRIBUTES.

You say
At the same time me nd my siblings will make sure our parents are looked after well. I guess these qualities should be instilled in one at an early age. It does not matter if you have lived in the Western world. One should always adhere to the traditional values

Traditional values are different to traditional styles. Often people mix the two. Value is the end result. Style is the medium / path through which the end result is produced. If that process is different then it is difficult to enjoy the process. Then the outcome needs to be moveable and objectively measurable.

Respecting the discoveries made by parents and elders is the traditional value - which is actually Universal. If we continue with a system where children physically look after their parents - then children would have to learn two systems - democracy at the national level and autocracy at home.

Try to stick to the point,...our general topic LTTE, GOSL, war and peace + some joke to stimulate.

Try to avoid go into stuff like 'how you live a luxury life there', 'you selfish',..bla, bla, bla...

Siva;
What swathi states is most likely correct. LTTE is bigger than just VP. I believe that the movement will go on.

This is very true, and it must be like that if Tamils follow it.

Best.

Revy and the other TIGER SUPPORTERS
LTTE wants a separate Country but cannot feed its own citizens?????????. If the citizens of the country supported LTTE or decided to live in LTTE control areas, SL government , Army , Navy or the AIR FORCE is not responsible for their actions. Do you think now the innocent tamil person who lived in LTTE contolled areas can have faith in LTTE. Well these people are not innocent they are TERRORISTS who are starving. SL government do not support terrosim and SL GOVT do not feed terrorists. TERRORISTS should not have human rights in this WORLD. They should be KILLED.
