i expect a srilankan to rule
it is not a secret that your idea is too late at this juncture.
the govt should have worked on the srilankan identity soon after the independent. more than a 50 year mess cannot be solved within a couple of years.
so again, i would like to ask, do you want the sinhalese to rule over tamils again? if yes fine , if not what is the govt doing right now for the tamils to practice politics and democracy?
please do not relate ltte to the Q. for example, the indo-lanka accord was signed to give a bit more political freedom specially to tamils in the north and east. the political freedom brought by indo-lanka accord is in practice in the south and west but not in tamils areas.
where do we stand here?
thanks. Edited By - tigeress19 - 16 Sep 2006 12:17:56 GMT |

GOSL prefer war at the moment..... yea until another Air port blast. we do not need this do we?
that is exactly what the war monger inthe south is waiting for and what LTTE dare not do.
Because if there is another massive attack inthe south Killinochchi will be only dust.
I will challenge LTTE to do another terrorist attack in the south. I bet my life those imbeciles cannot do another. |

It seems 'Ceasefire Agreement' is going to do the best for Tamils. It helped LTTE to gather some power, but same time, it spoiled LTTE. Karuna left. A moderate generation born.
I hope, This is what Tamils need today.
I wish there will be a time that Colombo and Jaffna fighting for economic supremacy, within one country, like Tokyo Osaka, or New Delhi Mumbai, or Los and NY. |

Hello.... Hello.... wake up ... wake up...
CFA, means a Ceasefire...No fighting... that's all about it. It's not discussing or offering any solutions....
GOSL, proudly appointed by people, cannot offer any 'solution' without going back to people.
Also no solution can be even be dreamed on by anyone, when a gun is pointed at their head...
So let's keep killing all these LTTE terrorist dogs... attacking from the air, land and sea....
Let's also give DDT (Death / Destruction / Terror) to those who support terrorists.... White vans are a good tool! |

it seems the CFA is going to do the best for tamils
if i can remember well, as soon as the sinhal act was introduced without the consent of the tamils, the tamils lost as a community in srilanka and it is the fear that brought ltte to the scene.
if there any solution to the tamils, that should repair the damage done by the majority sinhala will be seen as a victory to tamils. so iwould say the sinhala people should come term and accept it as a sign of respect! |

Tigeress19,
Yes, there were some critical errors in the history. But, just like the misjudgment in Mavilaru by LTTE, politicians did not think deeply about the all future outcomes, when they did so.
Now, we have to correct from this moment, if its possible. If the solution is war and divide, it will bring destruction to whale country.
I am perfectly OK, if the leader of Sri Lanka is Tamil. Why not, if he loves Sri Lanka. You cant understand moderate Sinhala mind. We are open to progress of the country. We love Tamils just like we love Singhalese and Muslims. In Colombo, my mother took me to Kovils, and churches too.
Best luck. Edited By - sansare - 16 Sep 2006 12:28:06 GMT |

Sansare
you are a minority within your majority group. you will not mind a tamil president but the majority will . lets leave it at that, because it is not going to happen.
mavilaru? yes the govt says ltte blocked and ltte says the residents blocked it and the mavilaru comes under ltte controlled area.
now whoever blocked it should not be a matter but the problem is, blocking a sluice gate is a civil matter should have been dealt with civil means not military means.
this is where the sl govt goes wrong even today and have in the past.
like i say, if the sinhala people wants a srilanka in unitary form of govt, the tamils should be allowed to practice politics and must pay attention to the tamil politicians. Edited By - tigeress19 - 16 Sep 2006 12:36:05 GMT |

Calm down Bro., perhaps you didn't get my point. LTTE used CFA to be strong, but it positively spoiled Tamil mind, to have a relax life. It negatively spoiled LTTE mind too, that's why Karuna left.
But, I never agree with what Ranil did for own gain. That is a different matter.
Best. |
