The blithering Tigers violate shipping with impunity in Sri Lankan waters! What say you fellows here? Where is that Mig 29C chap?
My word, if this happend in good old Blighty, there would have been heads rolling all around. The GOSL forces it seems were pre-empted... with the LTTE boarding the Jordanian vessel with no resistance.
Why couldn't the MiG 27s sink the LTTE boats before they got to the Jordanian ship? Imagine that sight... LTTE boats all in the open! If only Bertie had a shot with the Mosquito's 4 nose guns! If you chaps had some planes at China Bay, it would make things easier for your airforce to coordinate with the navy. Back then, I have scrambled from China Bay to intercept a couple of long range Japanese bombers. Knocked them off too! I suggest placing your Pucara's at this base. They are slow, but better than nothing. You should use the best 30 mm cannon with this plane.
You lads know why I sound astonished? How do you know that there weren't any weapons for the LTTE on board that vessel? The fotilla of LTTE boats could have taken plenty of ammo (Stingers?) under the cover of this 'bungled' op... Could the Jordanian crew be on the take? Is anyone tracking them?
Now how many Pucaras do you have? Where are they? What are they doing? Come on chaps, get moving!

Did we Get the 30mm Canons For FACs Yet? Wonder Whats Happening these days? any actions with MIG27s? still didn't herd about those birds..

Voila indeed!! Its the first search query LOL. Never thought about doing that first myself :))
Yeah the Mig27's have not been on the news lately. Ol' Mig29C has not made his appearance yet either. Last time he wrote he was about to leave to Sri Lanka for some Military related issue. He is sure to have some comments on the Mig27 issue.
Maybe SLAF should follow Biggles' and SenaM's advice and think about bringing the Pucaras back into service.

Hi guys (and a girl I remember) .. on this thread wish you all verry happy and prosperous new year in 2007 .. and wish the SLAF to be successful in all the front s , and to minimize civilian casualties as much as it can.. hope you people aware of the news from mannar that SLAF hit the sea tiger camp and some civilian casualties including Kids .. and we all aware the LTTE propaganda machine .. so if this is true my deepest sympathies to those families and the little Kids .. died should never happened...and I also hear that Sea tigers got dam good hit and unconfirmed news saying that Soosai was there as well.. no further news .. any comments on this issue people...
and I saw on Divaina that 2 of 4 Mig 27 arrived yesterday .. but I thought that they were already arrived long time ago..
if Mig29 can confirm this ..
and when we gona get the other 2 Migs...?cause according to him these Jets were prepared to long time ago.. so they should be here.. BTW any of yours know that how do they brought them to SL .. are they shipped from Ukraine..???
and I still have no info about the remaining 3 Mig 27 ...

Hello Chaps,
It is dashed great to see you all here. I hope that your ways of cheering each other with the new year will egg your flyboys to do their work well, what with good ships being taken over and all.
I must say that knocking out sea bases is a jolly good idea, but this sort of op is full of danger, as your enemy has put young children near these bases. Dashed if your flyboys did not know--I know how they feel, as a couple times over Germany, we had to knock of some Jerry and it was not easy to target them cleanly. It is really aweful feeling when civies get hit.
My suggestion to your govt is to send a pathfinder ahead and drop leaflets to get the civies out of there. Do this to several targets regularly while hitting only a few, and it is dashed good propaganda too--now they also call it psy ops, as you can get the civilians running scared.
I know that does mean the secret targets will be taken out off the list. IT would be better to hit the trenches regulalry, except they won't know which ones you are going to hit next. The sheer randomness of these bombing runs will wear their nerves down.
