I wanted others know that no SRi Lankan Sinhala Govt. will ever grant genuine federalism because even the Regional Councils (BC Pact)in 1958 and District Councils (1965)were sabotaged by kinding anti-Tamil riots by both major parties.
No Sinhala govt ever implemented any agreement or legislation or complied with CFA.
I hope that your above statement is wrong; but I am beginning to resign to the same conclusion. What is next I do not know! |

Hello Kula,
How are things? I am not sure as to how things are going pan out in Sri Lanka! It is very difficult to know what is in MR's mind. What was he doing in UK? If he were to achieve consensus among the Sinhala polity for a federal setup, where would that leave LTTE? |

Thank you for doing your best to answer me and I understand and appreciate it very much!! We have a lot of room to improve. I know the supreme court is doing the best but there is always a doubt when it comes to political issues and ministers involvement!! in the past there is nothing to show that we ordinary sri lankan are comfortable with our present system. You & I know bro that if we have to sue a Govt official or go against the armed or police force it is better to shut up rather than risk our life's further!!
I suppose that is the system and we have to live with it!!
When i was returning once from Sri Lanka, i was stopped and my PP was checked. The army officer asked me where I am going and I said to Hong Kong. He went through a PP and saw an Aussie Visa (which i used once before but an old Visa) and insisted i am lying and i was going to Aussie and not to HK. I said no, i live in Hk and i showed my PID but since there was no entry to show i live in HK in my PP he wouldn't allow me..they took me to a side and checked me as well. at the end i said ok..pls tell me what is the big issue here whether i am going to Hk or Aussie i am leaving the country..Then he said ok fine go..lolz..I did not loose my temper at all and i was keeping my cool. We have a long way to go..i understand these poor forces are also under a lot of stress and i know what they go through as well.. |

It is a great pity, 'our very intelligent' tamil friends cannot grasp simple truths.
VPs successes, in earlier times were related to suicidal/ sacrificial attacks on the SLA - all the way from that initial 'truck bomb' attack by Miller - later promoted to 'Captain Miller'. VP's so-called brilliance as a master tactician/strategist depend solely on his creation of 'suicide cadres': black tigers, suicide bombers - even the 'un-ceasing waves' - all relating to sacrifice of young, impressionable tamil boys, and girls, and not much else.
Beyond that - nothing to show, that he is the 'military genius', many tamils believe him to be. If one is in a desperate mood - it is even possible to believe - 'He was given to us by God', as some-one said in one of these postings.
He stays back in a 'safe bunker' and sends others to battle - he is never at the 'front' - as battle progresses, to take charge, and deploy forces, as we have noted. Leaders like Karuna, achieved the successes credited to VP.
With a relativly small force - as VP has - in comparison to the much larger SL force strength, there is only so much he can do. With good morale (a supportive populace behind them), and with good leader-ship (both political, and militarily) - found for SL forces, the LTTE under VP is hope-lessly out-classed.
This will be evident as this 'un-declared' war, proceeds to its conclusion.

There is no CFA; its practically dead.
However, IC will stick to Norway!
The biggest blunder GOSL has committed is their relationship with Pakistan, ignoring Indian sentiments.
One has to wait and see the outcome, without jumping into conclusion.
Interesting times ahead!
I am sure there are RAW offcials posted to the Indian High Commission in Colombo.

Freezing won't help any civilians in tiger held areas.
it is a fact that tro is a laundry for ltte's fundraising
and it is also fact that tro is also conducting help activities in NE.
Use the millions to help civilians in NE. But... but.. which organization could conduct kind of this actions???? No one and no organization can act in ltte controlled areas independently. Thats mean every one has to work with ltte, and give them also something. |
