Berty:
It is possible that a couple of troopers perhaps did the massacre. However, I am not convinced of this yet. If the army did it according to the SLMM allegations, they could have easily covered this up following ways.
1. Burn the whole place beyond recognition.
2. They could have planted some weapons at the scene.
3. They could have removed a couple of T-shirts and put them on dead LTTE.
But, there were no such attempts even though SLA was in control of the area afterwards. I think SLMM was premature and irresponsible to issue such statements. They should now take the responsibility of their statements and live by them. Let the Australian experts help bring more facts to light.
Bottomline, you cannot blame the entire army. If they killed these people, they could have easily covered it up. Perhaps a couple of soldiers or LTTE. Eitherway, SLMM should have acted in a responsible manner and find the facts than expressing their opinions in public. |

Berty believe what you will. It is not my concern.
what I have stated is based on fact
What you have stated is based on mere speculation and assumptions.
Tell me, it's like you said earlier today. YOu have to be tamil to feel the pain. I did not see you or any of your other LTTE apologist friends jumping up and down after the bus bombing.
I mourn for the deaths of all Sri Lankans - be they tamil, sinhalese or muslim
you however by your own words condemn yourself...... |

My guess is that the SLMM people we have in SL are pretty ordinary fellows (and have their own petty biases).
They seem to be applying a twisted kind of logic, which might 'go' like this -
'SL Military forces went into Mutur, when they had no business there .. true Muslims were being driven out from their homes, and there were some killings .. but they do not strictly count, in this thing. This is about the LTTE and SL Military .. We are here to maintain the CFA, and SL Military should have allowed us to pursuade the LTTE to be 'good boys', and stop their 'rough-stuff' in Mutur. How dare SL forces try to push us off 'our jobs' .. and there was the earlier case when they let-loose with heavy-guns, when our former SLMM chief was trying to get the Mavilaru sluice gate opened for them, un-grateful fellows ! Yea, if they had remaind in Mavilaru, without trying to rush into Mutur, there'd have been none of this .. sure, they are responsible.' Edited By - SenaM - 30 Aug 2006 13:40:53 GMT |

| SenaM : Do you believe the forces of the SLA would have attacked the Mulivaru sluice gate if the incident had happenned say 12 months ago, or do you think the incident co-incided with a state of military readiness ? |

Berty ayya,
OK how if my answer is YES LTTE kills on a daily basis..and you call them a TERRORIST organization..
what shall we call SLA..FATHER X'mas
If you believe LTTE are freedom fighters you have the freedom to believe and I have no issues as that is why LTTE survive this far despite their all known atrocities in every nook and corner. You can call them Father xmas too if you like that as they may bring nice presents in a cyanide capsule like they brought to Mr Loganathan and Mr Sivadasan earlier this month, 4 months b4 xmas.
My question is not about calling SLA which name, but the evidence of such activities. Until we see clear cut evidence no one can blame the SLA. SLMM has to prove their validity if they claim aid workers were killed by the SLA, simple as that. |

Most peace loving people, regardless of their race and creed condemn LTTE's atrocities, there's no doubt about that. Because the terrorists wreak a havoc in the N&E, preventing kids from schooling and also preventing any development in the area. Unfortunately, some selfish guys who do not want to lose their dole in the west do support terrorism.
The issue was not about LTTE..There was a breaking news in which the SLMM has said it was the SLA who killed the 17 Aid workers (tamils and Muslims)
Pls do not connect the LTTE to this topic..
There are discussion for and against..
My question was to kamani nangi who says we need to wait and she will not believe the SLMM and it is one sided..Fair enough but the same Kamani nangi passed the judgment as soon as the bus blast went off saying it was LTTE even tho the SLMM did not accept it was the LTTE.
as a neutral don't you think it is unfair to make a comment!! |
