So You admit that the Armed Forces of the GOSL will be unable to defeat the LTTE militarily in the next 30 years!
That would be funny, Prabha will have to redo his bunker into a retirement home and stock up on Viagra! |

There will be many to take over the reigns of command, should the case arise.
But the point is, Do You really want this 'shadow-war' to go on for another 30 years? Haven't there been enough deaths on both sides, why prolong the situation, the IC will Not stand by and watch for another 30 years!

GoSL is an elected government and leadership change every 6 years...presidents and prime ministers come and go...
in next 30 years we even dont know who the leaders are...whoever it is they will have to deal with bunch terrorist..
GoSL should speak the same language the tigers understand...
LTTE needs a new leader...they have lost almost everything under present leadership. if not, tell us something you achived under praba.
today you are a uncle, you may leave this world another couple of years time leaving nothing to your grand chilren...

You misunderstand, I am Not a LTTE Supporter, Neither do I Support the GOSL. There needs to be a Negotiated Settlement, but to achieve that, the GOSL must be Honest in it's dealings with the Representatives of the LTTE, and Vice Versa.
It was thought that the PTOMs would have been a starting point, but the GOSL reneged on this Agreement, and Couldn't't even be Trusted in a National Emergency!
North, South, East & West are All Suffering from the Present Situation, the economy is stagnant, the Tourist Industry is in Decline, and the rupee is losing value. The Only Ones to Profit from the Present State of Affairs, are the Ever Increasing Ministers & Deputy Ministers of a Government with No Sense of Direction!

The LTTE continued their killings AFTER the state broke their promises, including a SIGNED AGREEMENT.
Eskimos never stop hunting seals...They can not simply become vegetarians!
No use of talking if the other party going to shoot you..either you have to escape or face it...as a legitimate government they have to face it..
Last 30 years, many GoSL leaders dealt with the messengers of same LTTE leader....time ups for a new leader. |

| It is good to talk directly with LTTE leadership. But who knows Prabha is alive now?. The other thing is government should not stop attacking LTTE positions and destroy LTTE network as much as they can. We must keep soldiers morale high so that militarily we have some advantages. |

| What would such a meeting accomplish?...Mahinda wants a settlement within SL, but Prabha would not settle for anything but independence. I think we all know that the previous peace talks were ridiculous, it was a series of fake peace talks that led to the current situation. No one is to blame but our current leaders, who refuse to settle on a agreement to a conflict that they had over two decades to solve. |
