Good News for the sri lankan in general that the SLA is having the upper hand in the armed wrestle with the tiger rebels. For one moment my applause for the brave soldiers cannot be resisted but the torment they through by this unwinable war has more to do with my restrain to applaud a useless war, which is heading to nowhere. This president is spending more money and strength on the war where everyone is looser. He must instead spend more money and restrain for peace which will eventually prosper the country where everyone win be a winner.
Where does this president go? Does he pursue the aspirations of the majority that gave him that post or he is only pursueing the JVP/JHU voters who made the difference between winning and loosing.
We have seen the cost of living hitting the ceiling within 8 months of your government. This is the worst period for quite a long time that sri lankans experience. |

Sorry to say this - but you are clue-less..
The President has asked the LTTE to 'come to table, and discuss a 'power devolution package'. LTTE says 'We are not for talks at this time' .. and they refused to attend the All Party Conference, also - to which they were invited.
The LTTE is working 'hand-in-glove' with Norway on a totally different program - for the division of the country. Our people in the South, have still not realised -
Ranil 'pawned' the Northern and Eastern provinces of Sri Lanka to the Norwegians - and he got paid. But there was never any intention on his part to redeem/recover these provinces. The 'pawn ticket' (the CFA document), he got from Norway was worthless - and he was going to watch this separation come-about, and Norway take charge of the NE - during his term of office. Or, so he thought - hoping he will get another hefty cheque from Norway, when that happened. Un-fortunately for him - he did not come back to power. Fortunately for us, it is not going to happen - there is a lot of Oil & Gas in those off-shore regions (bordering NE); we are not going to hand it over on a platter to Norway (and a Syndicate headed by VP). It wll be exploited as a national resource - and all people in SL will share in this wealth. |

About 6 months ago the US under secretary Nicholas Burns said that they will make sure that the SL forces will have a upper hand if war breaks out.
This is the result.
The LTTE is being thrashed every where not only due to SL forces but also due to better arial survailance and better technology for the airforce/navy.
The message is clear to the LTTE. The world will make sure you are destroyed.
Stop being a terrorist. Choose peace.
STOP sacrificing tamil civilians and kids
STOP terrorising tamils and killing opponents in the name of 'freedom'
GIVE all human rights back to tamil people.
RELEASE tamils from the LTTE held torture chambers.
STOP bluffing people
LET all sri lankans smile again !!! |

Tamil diaspora wake up and realize what you are enabling this madman to do..If you do not care for for the loss of Non-tamil Sri-lankans..you should care about the tamil childrens lives that you are destroying ..whilst you sit in foreign places and your own children sleep safely at night..Just think of what you are are doing to those kids who are not fortunate enough to hide behind a computer screen after eating a full meal ..because they are busy trying to survive each hour or just for another day. THERE BLOOD IS ON YOUR HANDS..
so go ahead spew your hatred..but remember what goes around ALWAYS comes around.

Hi Tusker Nice to see you again.
It is true we Sri Lankans (Peace loving Tamils, Sinhalese, Muslims and others) were humiliated by Terrorists and their west living keyboard terror supporters during the past four years. While our short sighted politicians were destroying our armed forces dreaming of fake peace, They helped terrorists to get strengthen by each and every means. But now with the initiatives of new government and their allies, Terrorism is becoming a thing of past. However we should not try to humiliate entire Tamil nation for the crimes done by few racially motivated terrorists both locally and abroad. We should show compassion and convince them that they have no other friends than Sinhalese in a peaceful Sri Lanka.
We also should not forget due to the crimes done by our politicians, many Tamils (of course Sinhalese as well)became victims in their own lands. Hence it is our duty to force politicians to make a country that treat every one as equal citizen where by ensuring long lasting peace in Sri Lanka.
