Why dont LTTE start to dooo that. Dont care about international......

Only problem these savages cannot hit the LTTE and so target innocent civilians and children...
The costs of war will be high-
If civilians in the NE get killed...the 'peoples force' will tend to attack the south ...

Dillont : OK the editorial was bogus, but here's my take on the situation that is not.
The vast majority of the people (military included) do not want war.
The Tamils have suffered in the past as a result of Sinhala self-interest and the Sinhala will to dominate what they regard as 'their' Island, seeing the Tamils as inferior.
In the last presidential election, the one thing the LTTE did, was to illustrate that the electoral clout of the Tamils is sufficient to gain political advantage, as they hold the balance of power between the two main parties.
This effectively made the LTTE redundant, as all thinking Tamils now recognise they can achieve all their aspirations simply by voting. The choice facing the government if they wish to neutralise this influence is to disenfranchise 18m people, which would be unacceptable to the IC.
The current fighting is engineered by controlling Tamil and Sinhala interests, to avert attention from these realities. All ethnic groups within Sri Lanka are essentially at peace with one-another, but are being forced in a war that will, in the end, only benefit their rulers and not the individual citizen. |

This is an opinion and nothing to do with the news.
The Govt must put its genuine proposals on the table and LTTE must talk on it.
Past experiences affirm clearly that GOSL did not honour or implement the previous agreements such as BC- Pact, SC-Pact and CFA. They want to waste time until the minorities are annihilated by ethnic cleansing. Percentage of Sinhalese in the East has rocketed to 32% from just 6% in 1946. Noises about offer of peace talks by the GOSL is just hoodwink the international community. |
