Mad Prof
If the billions of rupees the international community donated to the corrupt Sri Lankan governments, were spent wisely on investments rather than bribes, war, and arms, today we would be joining the Indians in developing our economy and for a prosperous Sri Lanka, for all th citizens.
Think about it. |

| Tarquin : There are Singhalese people living in the North. Do you really think that it would be responsible of a government in Colombo to abandon them to the not so tender mercies of the LTTE ? |

Hi Priyanthy
They may not be lying but this is the diturbing and ugly side of war. In my view, Oslo was the turning point. LTTE might retaliate now with something and the GOSL will go one step further. Escalation will be the common thing in coming days.
There must be a lot more innocent casualties especially in the sieged area. Only after a few weeks we may know a bit.
In the unlikely event that both parties stop tomorrow there is a lot of reconstruction to do. |

Wimal,
Pls listen to me..The children down south is engaged in some adverse activities and it is not their fault..it is all owing to the Poverty..
Those children should be saved..That is why we have a Govt in place..They should rescue these kids..rehabiltate and educate and train them and give them jobs..That is the government duty..Pls remember these Children still have a chance to become real men or women of Sri Lanka..
The kids in north..if the Govt think they are Child soldiers..Fair enough..they have blamed the LTTE of taking these kids away from their parents..Fair enough..we all think the GoSL is caring..well here is my question..!! if you know they are kids taken away from the mothers..why give them a chance..why bomb them deliberately?
That is the sad part!! |

World knows the truth, the Sri Lankans are fast digging their own graves, you have heard about giving people enough rope to hang themselves, that applies to Sri Lankans. Plus Plus Plus Plus I have every confident in LTTE and they will deliver their own justice, not in the way the GOSL behaves, far better than that.
World now know that Sri Lankans are terrorists and they kill children, not just now, they have done it for years.
Thats the reason for Tamils supporting LTTE. |

Berty ayya,
The GoSL says they are child soldiers..OK man..they are child soldiers..cool..we should accept it..
I have decided to accept anything you have to say..go on..say it..!!If a CRY of DEAD Kid makes you happy..go ahead!! enjoy it!!
Calm down please, where is your peace stance? why become emotional and get out of the track?
We all have the right to question on the validity than blindly believing it, don't you think so?
These girls could be just innocent girls who know next to nothing about the war or could be child soldiers, that is why we need to understand with common sense than being biased to one form information.
You are a grown up daddy and you should be advising us than getting emotional and trying to evade the topic. |

This shows a lot..yes they are lying!! is what you want to be conveyed!
why not be straight and say that you don't believe it!!
Kamani Nangi!! yes.i got emotional cos it was something to do with KIDS!! you have a small kid..i have big kids..but they are like our eyes..!!
Tell me won't you get emotional at all if something happens to any kid? UR a mother..a young mother..u know the feelings!!
What is wrong in getting emotional at times? that shows the softer side of a person..is that bad!! |

No evidence orphanage casualties are Sri Lankan Tigers - UNICEF
08.15.2006, 03:39 AM
COLOMBO (XFN-ASIA) - The United Nations Children's Fund said there is no evidence to support military claims that dozens of children killed in a Sri Lankan air force bombing were Tamil Tiger cadres.
UNICEF Sri Lankan representative Joanna van Gerten said a UNICEF team had visited the site in the northern rebel-controlled district of Mullaitivu.
'These were children from surrounding schools in the area who were brought there for a two-day training workshop on first aid,' she told Agence France-Presse.
Yesterday, the government denied an attack on the orphanage, saying the air force had only targeted
a Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) training facility in Mullaitivu.
Tamil Tiger guerrillas, however, said that 61 schoolgirls at the orphanage and 15 civilians huddled in a church have been killed in air and artillery attacks by Sri Lanka's military.
Air force jets hit a 'Senchcholai', an orphanage run by the LTTE in the northeastern region of Mullaitivu, the Tigers said in a statement.
The government rejected the statement and said the victims were students aged between 15 and 18 who were taking part in a two-day seminar on first aid.
While UNICEF has documentary evidence to prove that the LTTE recruit children, there is no evidence that those killed and injured on Monday were among them, the UNICEF Sri Lanka representative said.
'As of this time, we don't have any evidence that they are LTTE cadres,' she said. Edited By - Thivya - 15 Aug 2006 12:23:02 GMT |
