Explosions in Palaly military base, SLAF aircrafts grounded

Artillery shells from Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam positions continued to hit the Palaly military base with irregular intervals Monday night and Tuesday morning, civilian sources in Valikamam said. Civilians who heard the sound of an aircraft circling above the Palaly airbase Tuesday around 6:00 a.m., said there were no indications of the aircraft landing, as shells began hitting the base simultaneously.
A military source confirmed that SLAF helicopters were heavily deployed during the night, but refused to comment on the SLAF attempt to land any airplane.

This story is not what you heard a few days ago!! if your telling us the Kfirs are flying from Katunayake, then the Story is TRUE..Make sure they guard Katunayake this time..Tell them no parties and no Thai dancers!!

Peace comes with compromise dear, not just by oneway. Both tamils and Sinhalese representatives should be eager to compromise on a common ground.

We have seen endless killings from either end but there was no compromise.

The Sinhalese shed their tears on many occasions as the tamils for losing lives but have that brought any solution.

The question lies between a democratically elected government and a terrorist group who think that they are equal to the government. The so-called self proclamation is not the way to represent which is why the elections are held to get the public consent. In elections you have the right to elect the party you like unlike self-proclamation.

Without public consent anybody can do anything willy-nilly. This is not justice, that is why coming to politics by leaving the arms is advisable.

But would they understand is the issue here.

Option before srilanka.

sinhala racisit government have been targetting tamils and their assets. now they trying to drive out tamils from tamil land. and they succesfully kicked over 1 million tamils out of the country and continue to catch the land.
now time has come tamils all must unite and defeat this terrorism by the racisit state.
everyone must pledge their full support to tamil leadership to win this war.

If there is anyone who is genuinely perplexed about the Govt?s inconsistency over Maavilaaru and puzzled about the continuing war then he or she must realise that this
war was never about water. There was always a hidden agenda. What is happening now is a full - fledged effort by ?Malthattu? Mahinda and his cohorts in khaki, crimson and saffron garb to implement that agenda. This agenda is nothing new. It has been the dream of Sinhala supremacists to destroy or drive the Tamils out of the East and make it a ?Sinhala? province. Once the Tamils are diminished the Muslims will be targetted.

Developing Agriculture through massive irrigation schemes and providing land in the dry zone to the landless is a fair and acceptable policy. In Sri Lanka this project assumed sinister and insidious motives. ?Colonisation? became the means through which Tamils and Muslims were made a ?minority? in their historic habitat. Altering demography in favour of the Sinhala majority was the name of the game.
This policy was heavily augmented with the use of violence. Various pogroms were unleashed against Tamils in general and Easterners in particular. Use of water in irrigation schemes was curtailed to Tamil farmers. There was very little economic development in Tamil areas. This political project continued and became war. The escalation of the conflict enabled the state to practice a blatant ?scorched earth? policy towards Eastern Tamils. This resulted in death,destruction and displacement. Many moved out of the East. This was particularly so in Trincomalee.
Trincomalee was important for more reason than one. Blessed with a natural deep water harbour Trinco was of strategic importance. It was also the district bordering the Northern Province. The earlier ?Pathavikulam?(Padaviya) scheme has interdicted North - East territorial contiguity. Later came the ethnic cleansing of the ?Manal Aaru? region. A new entity ?weli - Oya? was created. All this was aimed at breaking North - Eastern contiguity.
With the ethnic conflict intensifying the importance of Trincomalee began increasing. There was a deliberate effort to de- populate the district of Tamils and re - populate it with Sinhala people. This was particularly so in the case of Tamil majority Trinco town and strategically important coastal areas. In spite of all these attempts the LTTE continue to maintain a significant presence in the district.
