Colombo's claim of talks offer false - Puleedevan


Director of Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) Peace Secretariat, S. Puleedevan, denied the press reports which said that Tigers have made a fresh offer for talks. 'There is absolutely no truth in these reports. Colombo is adamant in finding a military solution and we are defending to safeguard our people and territory,' said Puleedevan.
'I told Head of Mission that Colombo has made up its mind towards a military solution despite the goodwill gestures extended by the LTTE last Friday,' Puleedevan said.

'It is the Sri Lankan Government that continues to believe in military solution to the conflict,' Puleedevan said refuting the press reports that quoted Government officials as saying that the Tigers were seeking renewed peace talks.

JAFFNA: SUBSEQUENT TO THE HIGH INCIDENCE OF CASUALTIES among LTTE terrorists, in confrontations that lasted during past 48 hours it has been observed that there are large numbers of minors among the dead LTTE cadres who have been observed by the troops.

On the other hand, large scale desertion in the LTTE organization has also been reported as those child soldiers learnt repercussions following set back LTTE organization suffered.

Therefore, Security Forces appeal both parents and those underage LTTE cadres as well as those minors immediately take necessary steps either to hand over those child soldiers to nearest Police station or Security Detachment or surrender to the said authorities as early as possible.

Security Forces while guaranteeing the safety to all such surrendees assure them all measures to rehabilitate them will be pursued in coordination with relevant authorities.
