Berty and Freethinker,

Both of you are talking nonsense and distorted facts about the JVP uprising against the JR's undemocratic UNP government, who pick-pocketed the people's democratic rights by postponing the elections, using a fraud referendum. The JVP was purely in the democratic process. JR knew they couldn't stop the JVP's rapid progress, if the JVP was allowed to do politics democratically. In addition to that, Rohana Wijeweera went to courts against the undemocratic and the most corrupted referendum in Sri Lanka's entire history. If the court proceedings had been continued, according to the legal experts, Rohana Wijeweera could have won the case as there was more than enough evidence about the election fraud and subsequently, the fall of the JR's regime would have been inevitable. Therefore, JR had decided to stop the JVP's progress and the court case against the referendum by proscribing it. He did it under the cover of the 'black July', which was created by his own party.

Even after the proscription, the JVP tried all possible democratic means to get the ban lifted. The JVP's uprising was created by JR and his UNP's undemocratic actions and they must take the full responsibility of it. The JVP uprising started after JR signed the Indo-Lanka accord even without consulting his own cabinet to bring Indian troops. The JVP never asked for a separate state or power, their main demand was to hold free and fair elections and the lifting the ban. The JVP came back to democratic politics not because of Premadasa's suppression, but the JVP was always prepared to accept peoples' vedict. Today, even according to the JVP's political revivals, the JVP has become the most trusted democratic political party in Sri Lenka.

The LTTE is completely opposite. Democracy is the most opposing concept to them. LTTE terrorists think intimidation and the destruction are the tools to be used to get what they want. LTTE is nothing but a terrorist group which is about to extinct.

Which Means LTTE had a big lost in the recent battles. They need some more time to build up. This situation would have aroused due to Karuan's absence.Time will prove. LTTE will never come to a political solution.
