French NGO to closely watch the inquiry into massacre of its workers in Sri Lanka

Sri Lankan government has initiated a full investigation in to the incident, promising stern action...
Aug 11, Colombo: French Charity Action Against Hunger (Action contre la Faim or ACF) today said that the agency and other international humanitarian agencies would be closely watching the investigation into the massacre of its 17 employees.
Director General of ACF Benoit Miribel said he would visit the Trincomalee district soon where the local staff was killed. ?Everyone wants a light focused on this investigation to get to the bottom of this,? Miribel told media in Colombo.
?The government is taking the investigation very seriously. International expertise is being sought,? Miribel said.
During last week?s heavy fighting in Muttur, 17 employees of ACF were found shot to death in their compound. Both Sri Lanka government and the LTTE rebels were trading charges against each other for the massacre.
Sri Lankan government has initiated a full investigation in to the incident, promising stern action at the earliest against anyone involved as responsible, irrespective of their position. The government has invited Australian forensic experts to join the probe. Low
