AK47,

I don't even have to clean my own toilet. I've got someone to do that for me.I travel around the world a lot and have been to Sri Lanka a lot of times. Your cheap mind thinks anyone who goes to the middle east goes to clean toilets. No AK47, that probably is what you are capable of. But others travel for different reasons too.

but there is more then 3 million Sinhalese house maids in middle east

So you check them that all are Sinhalese (not mixed, tamils or muslims).

On the other hand isn't it better job than blowing up your own self with a cyanide capsule?

I think that the majority community should share political power on a federal basis as in lets say, India or devolution of power with the minority community.

The LTTE must give up violence once and for all, not give up weapons but give up violence, turn into a largely political organisation and go for a negotiated settlement immediately.

Kamani,

when youre talking about the ethnic crisis you have to look at the full context and not just one event.

when LTTE initially started sinhalese civilains werent touched. that policy changed because the sinhala south didnt know there was war going on in the north (even 6-8 yrs back) when we would call our aunt in colombo she wouldnt have a clue as to what was happening because

the media doesnt report it
no internet at the time.

how do you expect the people in the south to know the situation. in north and east in the early days 'Notices' were posted on walls besically giving us glimpses of info.

so the war is brought closer to home so that the average INNOCENT sinhalse understands First hand how its to live under constant fire. tell me honestly 6-8 yrs ago did you know what was happening in the north.

lets say you hit me once i let you off. you hit me again i let you off. now you think you can hit whenevr you like. when i hit back now suddenyly you understand that a reaction is coming your way. so now you might think twice before hitting.
this is exactly the situation in a nutshell.

TCK,

this war has been going on for more that twenty two years! More than two decades! What you say might have applied during the early years of this conflict, lets say upto 1987 or early nineties or so but not anymore. This violence has gone too far.

It is time to reconcile share political power on lets say, on a federal basis and move on.....

Also, your generation should let the next generation live in peace instead of inciting further violence.

AK47

You, I think lives in England and like most Sri Lankans travel to Sri Lanka for your vacation. I don't live in England and I'm not a Sri Lankan. I joined this web as I have a lot of Sri Lankan friends (Sinhala and Tamil). Unlike you, I travel the world and not go to one country all the time when I have time free.

TC,

read what the rajapakse siblings are upto.

As I told you before the 2 main political parties never did an honest thing without affiliating their close ones, Bandaranayake, Senananayeke and Rajapaksha they all doingthe same thing. If we take CWC Thonda's doing th esame thing.

Its power madness, you cannot stop it. Only if you go to that place you'll feel you want your relatives to get around your status too. That greed is always there and always will be.
