NEWS: 80000 Sri Lankan Toilet Cleaners are trapped in Lebanan. The Sri Lankan Gvt has abandoned them.
Srilankan Toilet Cleaners are the largest of ts kind in the arab world, they are not allowed into developed world. because their standard of cleaning is not passable. |

Dehiwala Train Blast & Airport Attack Remembered

TEN YEARS have passed since LTTE terrorists inhumanely blasted a passenger train at Dehiwala, south of Colombo claiming lives of 70 passengers and injuring more than 557 others. The doom-laden terrorist act, identical to the most recent one in Mumbai, India was committed as the rush hour passenger train bound for Aluthgama stopped at the Dehiwala Railway station on 24TH JULY 1996.
Over 55 state and private sector employees perished in the blast injuring over 25 children and 270 women of a total of 557 passengers. LTTE?s killer parcel bomb has been placed in a carriage rack, meant for passengers? bags and parcels.
EXACTLY FIVE YEARS AGO ON JULY 24 2001, LTTE terrorists infiltrated the Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport and completely destroyed three airbuses along with eight Air Force fighter aircraft. Three other airbuses were pertly damaged. In the ensuing gun battle, fourteen LTTE terrorists, five airmen and one Army soldier were killed. Twelve others including civilians were injured.
Separate commemorative and meritorious activities, most of which have been organized by separate individuals, were held at Dehiwala and suburbs with participation of members of clergy of all denominations. |
