Seylan Bank, recently announced investments to upgrade its network infrastructure, enabling the bank to overcome challenges in implementing key business initiatives and drive an increase in revenues.
Seylan Bank has signed an Enterprise Agreement (EA) with Microsoft, which enables them to install Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and Active Directory across the entire system, as well as implement Microsoft Exchange Server 2003. Microsoft`s EA provides volume licences for medium and large-scale businesses that make an enterprise wide decision to deploy Microsoft products.
Commenting on this pioneering initiative by Seylan Bank, Dr. Nihal Ramanayake said, `Seylan has been proactively striving to provide the best in terms of information and communication technology to its customers and employees alike. We had been facing several challenges in implementing key business initiatives to further drive our growth momentum. With this investment in an EA with Microsoft, we have performed a major overhaul of our networking systems.`
Before becoming a Microsoft Enterprise Partner, Seylan Bank was running some of its key applications such as messaging and file services on an old platform, which was not flexible enough for them to be agile in a modern business environment.
