Call it a minor reaction for the 400 years of collaborating with the colonials to subjugate our people.

Those incompetetent were kept in a corner. That's it.

There was no collaboration of any sort. You live in Colombo and you know very well that if you are not fluent in English, you will find it very difficult to get a job in mercantile firms.

You may ask those who know about what I am saying now:

'Ananda koleeje pincipal married a ingireesi woman'

This is the subjugation that you should be ashamed of, inflicted by your own majority singhalese people. Ask those who are atleast 60 years of age and they will tell you all about what I relate here.

Just don't blame the Tamils. Your people trampled your own!

Tamils all ove theworld from New Zealand to Canada commomerated the Black july, the most barbaric acts of violence by the most barbaric people.

Athos,

Even one person ws killed just because he belonged to another race thats a heinous crime.

This was indeed a sad day for Sri Lanka, cannot be forgotten and should not be forgotten.

It should be stressed here however, that the people have conveniently forgotten the benevolence and compassion displayed by the Sinhalese, when they sheltered Tamil families in their houses for days, hiding them away from the thugs.

This factor is not mentioned in any of the remembrances worldwide. Vast majority of the Sinhalese not only sheltered the afflicted ones, they also helped them to resettle or to go abroad.

It is also a poignent reminder that such acts or concepts should not be entertained or tolerated.

Athos,

My point was, dont say only 377 was killed. Lesser number of murdered people does not reduce the magnanimity of the crime.

All Sri Lankans regardless of race, creed and colour are paying the price up to now. Finger pointing does not stop the problem, it gives only self-satisfaction. I feel sorry for the Tamils who have put their trust on LTTE, although it gives them satisfaction.

I had gone to Hydepark to remember those vitims of 1983 riots.
in a weekday there are tens of thousands peole gethered.
TYO had organised this massive event with the help of local businesses.

the event had shown full solidarity with the tamil people in srilanka. and also wonderfull speach from one TYO member. where he highlighted it is spearate state is the answer for the sake of peace for tamils, sinhalese muslims and others.

he went on to say , we want to be friend with sinhalese just like france and germany. ( who were one time enimies now corporate in many things and friendly country) which i agree. he said by solving the problem by separate state , both can gain ennormously.

Athos,
These are registered deaths

Who registered it.It is the same dishonest barbareians who registered those deaths. We know very well what their so-called registrrtion would be.You people did not want to accept, thousands of your dead soldiers and declared them as 'missing', to massage the figers so that you don't have to pay compensation and other benefits to the dead soldiers famliy. You want us believe that your people would have registered all the tamils killed by your thugs.
