Rick,

I am telling both Tamil and English should be treated equally

Ok, I understand your point. But there are reasons always why certain things don't work according to the pre-planned visions.

Now for an example take UK. Here it has England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Island as the United Kingdom and official language is English and that is mainly because mostly its English but the Welsh and the Scottish have their languages too. They Gaelic and Celtic. Gaelic is spoken by the Welsh and latter by the Scots, but they all speak English. We don't have ethinic disharmoney though. The government in peace. The most important thing is if you respect your language and the others then there is no problem.

In fact when you enter Welsh border you see signboards with Gaelic in the forst row then English, but when you come out of Wales to England again you don't see Gaelic but English only. But there are many Welsh live in England and they don't cause a hue and cry.

So what you say is not relevant it aggravates your racism more than tolerance.

Forest:
How about you, instead of inciting ethnic violence here with you extremist comments why don't you do something constructive today?! Learn a few sinhalese words, learn a bit about sinhalese culture etc.

Forest, you put this Sinhala only law in 1958, and after 50 years of struggle and sufferings, when monks are ready to learn Sinhala, you are telling Tamils to learn Sinhala. Tamils are not puppets to learn Sinhala when you say them to learn and stop learning when you ask them to go to hell like 1958 acts. This is too late.

Rick,
NO You meant Tamils are second class citizens in Sri Lanka.

Mister, a hallmark of Tamil separatists is to lie and you are no exception.

I did not say Tamils are second class citizens in SL. All I said is Tamils are migrants outside Tamil Nadu, including USA and SL.

I merely pointed out that if you believe lacking equal rights for Tamil language in SL makes Tamils 'SECOND CLASS citizens', it should also make USA Tamils a SECOND CLASS race. That HURTS the ego of Tamil separatists.

Any way that did not hurt me

You shouldn't. Migrants races do not get equal rights for their languages in USA. Nor should it happen in SL.

Forest,

Looks like you haven?t seen my previous posts. I was born and lived in Colombo all my life (except 1983) half of my friends are Sinhalese. I know Sinhala language /culture etc. I am not against Sinhalese nor Buddhism at all. I am only Sinhala fundamentalists and state terrorists.

Rick Thambi,

Koncham listen pannungo..U will never get to a conclusion to a small problem like language cos it goes on racial lines..

Let us not bother so much about who speaks what..we have one common language English..let us talk in English!
