Karuna cadres overrun LTTE camp in Pullumallai

The Thamil Makkal Viduthalai Pullikal (Karuna faction) overran an LTTE camp in Pullumallai, between Maha Oya and rebel controlled Karadiyanaru, early last morning injuring several cadres in the process.
Karuna spokesman Mr. Thuyavan while claiming responsibility for the attack also said that propery belonging to the rebels in the camp, which is near the LTTE entry/exit point in Pullumallai, was destroyed following the attack.
The attack comes just days after an alleged attempt by the army to infiltrate LTTE areas in Vahereni, Batticaloa resulted in the death of 12 soldiers and 4 rebels while one soldier was also taken captive by the LTTE.
The Karuna faction, which operates its military unit from the jungles dividing LTTE and government areas in Batticaloa, recently distributed leaflets to families of LTTE cadres in Batticaloa and Ampara warning of a major assault on the Vanni faction.
Meanwhile the Batticaloa police chief has forwarded a set of recommendations to the Police headquarters in Colombo following concerns raised over the presence of the TMVP political office in the Batticaloa town.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror SSP, Batticaloa, Maxie Procter said that the TMVP office down Govinda Road in Batticaloa has created 'disturbances' among residents in the area.
'The setting up their office has created a small disturbance in that area. That is a highly residential area and there is a school there.
So that has created some problems. There have been many complaints made regarding this to me as well as to the police station. I have put forward some recommendations to the police headquarters regarding this,' he said.
The Batticaloa police recently searched the TMVP office premises on two separate occasions following complaints by both UNICEF and the SLMM that some underage youth and three missing persons were seen in the Karuna office.
However the search did not yield any results while TMVP officials denied allegations they were holding anyone captive in the Batticaloa political office. They also refuted claims that certain elements within the police tipped them prior to the search.

The idiots who issued the press release don't realise that everytime they open their mouth to pander to the local media's gallery, they contradict the government's position on the existence and activities of the Karuna Group.
Far from hurting the LTTE, they are reinforcing the LTTE's claims. Sometimes you wonder whose side they are on... |

Once upon a time when stories like this were released. there were so many punnakku eaters on this forum who wud jump up and down in joy and shout from their rooftops that karuna is routing the LTTE in the East.
nowadays even they dont seem to belive 'thuyavan's' statements anymore.
Karuna- the most over rated LTTEer
GOSL- thought they cud get back at LTTE with his help. its like going to battle in a wooden horse. karuna is wooden horse, a broken one too. no match for the tigers. |

It is none other than the LTTE that over rates the Karuna faction :-)) Since Karuna is a broken horse, why can't the LTTE DROP the demandsfor disarming Karuna? :-)))
Perhaps even an over rated, broken horse is a too much worry for the LTTE :-)
If Mathivadhani runs away from the LTTE with a gun, next thing the 'strong' LTTErs would ask the GOSL is to 'disarm Mathivadhani and hand her back to Sun God'

The reason why the LTTE asks the GOSL to dis arm karuna, is to discredit the GOSL infront of the IC.
ok i will make it simple for you.
LTTE wants to get tamil
if they come to the negociating table, they have to settle for something lessthan tamil eelam.
they want an excuse to avoid talks and start the war when the time is right for them.
so, till they are ready for war, they will keep on asking the GOSL to disarm karuna.
even if karuna is totally disarmed and arrested by SLA, LTTE will keep on asking for his disarmament till the time that they think that IC opinion is conducive towards resuming war.
Ironically karuna's existance is now a big headache for the GOSL and a blessing in disguise for the LTTE.
they have cleverly manouvered the karuna issue so that its now one of their strong points.
they will put presurre on GOSL asking for a karuna disarmament and build up their air capability at the same time.
a time will come where they will be too strong that we may have to give in even with out there being a war.
its called Diplomacy.
it takes time to understand this :) |

Guys,
reports coming from the east say that thousonds of tamils muslims and even sinhalese who are sons of the soil have rallied around the ledgendary leader of the eastern tamils karuna amman.
the battle hardened master of the craft was the back bone of the ltte for many years saving the wanni guys who lead from the back ass.
the eastern tigers are waiting till the cfa becomes null to launch the fianl assault.
i also hear that many easterners who are in the wanni flank for the time being will defect to thier leader when the time is opotune.
wanni tigers will not be able to run away even as refugees as they are a banned terror force all over the world. |

:-)) How Karuna, the broken woden horse, blesses the LTTE is evident from this news.
Are we to soon witness the LTTE demanding GOSL disarm the runaway spouse of Sun God only to 'discredit' GOSL in the eyes of IC? :-) |
