What do you think about GOSL?
A years ago I thought the GOSL was honest and wanted to finish the problem by some peaceful means. I personally don't support LTTE s suggestion of eelam (sorry if I disappoint you) but I feel the tamils can be given some sharing of the power so I thought that would be the case.
But it seems MR & the GOSL are not sure what's to be done yet and lot of people die as a result of that. I even used to support Mahinda over Ranil but not any more. I am disappointed the way things going. I don't think the CFA is a proper agreement anyway its just a piece of paper to support to drag things longer than anything else.
I want the LTTE to give up their idea of seperation from the Sinhalese and the eelam. They can come to democratic politics which the govetnnment should accommodate. But to happen that LTTE should stop killing innocent Sinhalese and children.

Tamils are not asking for your land (majority sinhala living or occupyed). They are asking for their traditional land to live in peace. Is there any need to SLA to occupy their lands and terrorise them. Withdraw the SLA out of north and east, then there will be permanent peace. Sri Lanka will develop. Otherwise
1. FAILED NATION tag will last for ever for Sri lanka.
2. TAMIL EELAM will become a separate state. |

Sorry for the mistake in writing your name.
Even LTTE is ready to accept the federal solution with appropriate powers. But the GOSL is the one which is hesitant in adapting it.
Do you think LTTE represent majority of the tamils? |

I am not the president of the country but I understand that the government should take measure to pritect citizens and in doing so they have to take some steps and that is what happening at the moment which requires public safety as the country belongs to all the people in it not a particular group of people. Tigers have killed lot of Sinhalese in NE and there is no safety for both Sinhalese and Muslims and how would you see that in this context?
In contrast lot of NE tamils live in the SW comfortably where nobody kills anyone. |

I always feel rise of the LTTE is due to the activities and actions of GOSL. Their actions only bought LTTE to such a strong position today. I do agree with you LTTE has made mistakes. |

This is not an easy question to answer yu know. because we know how many Tamil leaders were slughtered by the tigers and that means people are held at the gun point thus they are scared to express their view points.
LTTE killed educated tamils like DR Neelan Thiruchchelvam and many more. So if I say LTTE represents majority of tamils that would not be a fair assessment because may be our of fear People support the tigers not genunely. We know what happened when Karuna came out and now Velu is cahsing Karuna and his cadres. So how can one expect fairness or justice?
Matt, there is lot of things thatyou or me don't see openly but is quite overt, I feel general public have been mislaid by the leaders, you cannot say Velu is freedom fighter when he kills all his rival tamils to make sure he has no obstacles. |

This is really funny, I can not stop laughing. MR is adamantly sticking with the unitary character of Sri Lanka despite suggestion from every single country in the world including India and US that a solution should be found along the lines of federalism. You guys have set the clock back to where it was 50 years by declaring the unitary policy, but you guys are expecting LTTE to give up the idea of separation and join the municipal council, despite LTTE having lost 20 thousands cadres in the fight war independence established its own army, nave, airforce, judicial, police and monetary services. This is not an idea of separatism, the nation has already been separated, what the IC is doing there is to help SL to merge these separated nations. While the ground reality is like that, MR is singing his unitary songs, you guys are asking LTTE to join the municipal councils under unitary Sri Lanka. If you declare the solution will be found along the lines of OSLO declaration, and then if you ask Tamils to join the democratic process, then there might be some sense on that.
