Aganthukaya,
What you see is another dictator in the making..

Honestly, i think the idiot is bending down to extremists in order to secure his position....first banned Da Vinci code then Fashion TV.

Remember they stopped promoting inland fishing because of protests by some monks, in the process they deprived Sri Lankans of a cheap source of protein while harping about malnutrition among poor masses!!

Aganthukaya:

It is unbelievable how selfish and sick minded some of the Sri Lankan expats are.

I was a kid when SLFP came to power in the seventies with the backing of socialist parties, in a similar fashion to the current GOSL. I heard they stopped importation of all foreign products and people waited in long ques to buy bread. This is a similar thing that is happening now with the same SLFP party.

Aganthukaya, I feel very sympathetic to you. But why are you blaming this on the expats? After all this is you, not expatriates, who voted for the Mahinda Syntheniya, and you have to pay the price for that.

The best thing you can do is to make JVP and JHU accountable for this and use a broom stick to chase them away. This is only a starting point, but probably the worst is yet to come, if you support the war drums of JVP and JHU.

Aganthugaya:

I only said (and still say) exapts to leave this alone, because it is not expats who are affected by this decision.

That is exactly my point. You do not want others to interfere in your home matters. That is fine, but we expatriates live in a society where we love to express our views, but we never forced our view on others. Having said that, my personal opinion is that the SL government should not bring this rule. It is only the poor people who will be affected. The kids of the ministers are studying in various western universities, and it is not going to affect the rich. So even though I am not in agreement with this ban, what I want to emphasize again is that you can not complain for the views expressed by the expats, because that is a fundamental right (expression of view) in the countries where we live.

All I fight is to offer the same freedom of choice to the less privileged sections of the society. If I can have the freedom to watch what I want, why not that poor man / woman in some remote village should be deprived of that righ

Why r we fighting? i think We R both in the same boat!!

Berty walks to Aganthulaya and shakes his hands!! lolz

TORONTO - The Tamil Tigers terrorist organization is 'entrenched' in Canada and uses a Toronto-based 'front organization' called the World Tamil Movement to raise money for arms, says a summary of an ongoing RCMP probe released yesterday.

The 58-page document released by the Ontario court provides the first glimpse of a four-year RCMP investigation, called Project OSALUKI, into the Canadian fundraising efforts of the Sri Lankan terror group the Tamil Tigers.
