| Tele-Serials are curse on the society. Many people, specially women and children waste precious time by watching these serials and get emotionally involved as well. I have heard children lacking in studies mainly due to influence from TV programmes. The producer, actors, advertisers and the TV network are motivated by profit and only profit. As such they have no social concern. Studies reveal that many children have stopped playing outdoor games and instead spend time in front of the idiot-box. Experts warn that such children will become obese and are prone for disease in future. Whether the govt clamps control over the TV programmes or not, every parent should control their children from excessive TV viewing. |

Can i ask you a simple question? don't tell me this is different to what i am going to ask you!!
When Govt decided to register all TAMILS in Colombo, isn't it the same as infringing the right of Tamil (Srilankan) people!!
Well it is a government decision and people whether like it or not will abide by its law.
I just read in another thread about the Child labour and how there was a picture of MR's servant who is getting married!! now tell me ru going to challenge it!!

There is no issue on parents controlling
their children on what they should watch
on TV. However, the state trying to control the
adults will definitely be seen as a denial
of basic freedom. |

Yes, I Can! you were against the levy on one hand cos it hurts the poor Sinhalese!! You call the govt as infringing the right of those poor people. SINHALESE!!
on the other hand you say strictly speaking, I do not think I can term govt. registering its own people as an infringe of the rights of the people.
In this case you know when you say own people it is only TAMILS!!

Two weeks ago, a totally innocent person called Sunil Perera was beaten to death by Police, for no reason. He was a Sinhalese. Had he been a Tamil by any chance, I know what you people come up with now.

If you do not know any Tamil Tele drama make an effort to find a few names!! when you put only sinhala dramas my assumption is not wrong!!
I was only comparing your two statements and you still say it is not wrong when Govt asks for Tamils to Register but at the same time you say it is wrong if they ask part of the citizens to register..what do you really mean by it.. |

This has nothing to do with promoting local talent or improve the moral values of the Sri Lankans.
This simply to promote TVLanka against the other orivate channels.
The owner of TV lanka is a closed friend of the President, period.............. |
