KAmalpere2... Lord Buddhas discourses are good.I respect them. There are things to be learned. But, when it comes to all the stories written by Monks who were not contemporaries
of the Master , how do you expect to believe them?!.

The closest disciples of the Master like Ananda, Anathapindika, Aniruddha, Ahimsaka(Angulimala), Assaji, Ajatasatta and few others who were his disciples never ever wrote a word concerning the Thathagatas teachings. Most of the 'teachings and discourses of the Master' were only ORALLY TRANSMITTED. All what you would find attributed to the Master were written or 'put down into writing about 200 years after the Thathagata's maha parinirvana.

You say:' Buddhas main transport was walking.Ancient people are capable of walking even long distance. It will take only 3month to walk to SL from north india. it is as simple as that when we consider adams bridge.'

When the life History of the Sakyamuni is read anyone would not fail to notice that there is a clear record of all the main events of Buddha, the places he visited, with whom he was, where and what he preached and to whom he preached, in the Buddhist scriptures Tripitika (Viniya, Sutta, Abhidhamma). I have yet to find in any of those
writings that the Thathagata came to a place called Kalyani(Kelaniya) to sort out a quarrel between two clans!.

The Thathagata's coming to Lanka is mentioned only in the Mahawamsa and nowhere else. Mahawamsa is the Chronicle of Lanka and not India where the Thathagata was born, lived, preached and attained a Buddha and ultimately attained maha parinirvana.

The Muslims in the World do not consider the Druze of Lebonon as Muslims because they have DEVIATED FROM THE TRUE AND SIMPLE PATH OF ISLAM. Their numbers(in terms of adherants !) are comparatively very small. They could believe in whatever they like BUT THEY ARE NOT MUSLIMS.
Islam does not demand its followers to believe in re-birth.

I am very familiar with the USA and as such I'm telling you
in America 'anything will sell in the name of religion'. No wonder there are Thousand and one sects of Christians here.

We Muslims are not concerned with what the Americans said about re-birth. THERE IS NO PLACE FOR RE-BIRTH( of the type of re-birth spoken in Budhdhism) in Islam.

Just tell me if there is re-birth where are all the Buddhists who had been dead all these years?!. Except for an exceptional few who talk 'mumbo - jumbo' that they lived in such and such a place for the propagation of the belief in re-birth, 99% of the Buddhists doesn't know next to nothing about the sort of life they lived in a previous birth,IF ANY!

Cobra...first and foremost do not construe what I write as hatred of other Faiths. DEFINETLY NOT !. In the name of the ONE GOD whom I believe...I respect other faiths. Because ,Islam teaches and instructs its adherants to resepct other Faiths specially the Nazarenes(christians)and the Jews.

You had written: 'Nirvana literally means extinguishing or unbinding. The implication is that it is freedom from what ever binds you, from the burning passion of desire, jealousy, and ignorance. Once these are totally overcome, a state of bliss is achieved, and there is no longer the need the cycle of birth and death. All karmic debts are settled.'

Just tell me which human being other than except ofcourse the Buddha who was capable of achieving all the above 'beauty' you had written, has achieved all those cravings?!!. ALL HUMANS ARE BORN WITH PASSION, LUST, JEALOUSY AND HATRED. These weaknesses might be able to be controlled, BUT NEVER EXTINGUISED. This is quite evident when you see the Buddhist Monks in any sect whether in Mahayana Buddhism, Hinayana(Theravada), Zen Buddhism or any other sect in the World today or even a few years after the Thathagata's parinirvana. IF MONKS CANNOT CONTROL THEMSELVES; THEN WHAT ABOUT THE LAY PEOPLE?!. THAT IS THE QUESTION?!.

Morafines:

It is relavent for me whether Islam believes about re-birth.

Besides, this topis is not relavent even to this thread.

If you ask buddhists whether there is rebirth in Buddhism dpeneding on the person, they may say yes or No.

It is like, you are asking whether the elelcton is a particle or just energy waves.

Then depending on the knowledge of physics, the person would say yes or No.

That depends on what you understand by rebirth and what the other understands by rebirth.

Moranifes,
You may have heard a few words here and there but what do you know about Buddhism to speak about it? You believe in what you chose to or what your parents chose you for, and keep away from the rest of the religions. That will help you, your family and the world. Your attitude is the very Muslim attitude that causes all the problems in the world, the superiority. If as a Muslim, you can't believe in the re-incarnation, that's not the end of the world. Many do not believe in a God, but the attempt of religious fanatics like you and your brother Laden (the bin) have already wrecked a havoc in the world by disapproving every other religion. I do not want to ask whether have you seen your God or when will you give the freedom to womankind or any sensitive issues to your religion, but it would be appropriate if you keep to your faith and do what you could for your survival. Religions are all faiths, structured by those noble men for the betterment of the world, let?s keep it that way.
Some Muslims want to eliminate Israel from where it is, whereas in Sri Lanka millions of Indian Tamil estate workers were made graceful citizens. People like you have got citizenships of different parts of the world. Religious fanaticism is the root cause for many a problem in the world today. Let?s try not to dispute them but to work for religious harmony in the simplest way we could.
