It means ML is just joking not serious Nada is Spanish means not or never :-)
When I was in London I used to go to Soho with Claudia when we started going out in the 90s that was romantic but since then nothing special mate. Just usual stuff I am more hooked onto the research hence hardly any time to get time to mess about. We've been to Ann Summers a few times have you? Edited By - DrAkai - 30 Jun 2006 21:14:35 GMT |

We have a flower watering army - Anura Kumara Dissanayake (JVP)
(LeN-June 30, 6.45pm) JVP parliamentarian Anura Kumara Dissanayake says that we have an army trained for watering flowers. He made this comment participating at 'Thulawa' live political debate program on ITN last night.
He suggested that arm be trained on warfare and added that the LTTE terrorism is in the womb of the Tamil nation and said it should be removed. He also noted that a war should be waged with proper planning and claimed that war cannot be fought on fury. Edited By - Mahabala - 30 Jun 2006 21:15:26 GMT |

JVP parliamentarian's speech an affront to the Army
(LeN-June 30, 8.00 pm) A strong protest is mounting in the army over JVP parliamentarian Anura Kumara Dissanayake's remark last night over Thulawa program where he said that 'we have an army trained to water flowers'
Several high ranking army officers told 'Lanka e News' that they feel sorry about this person who insulted war heroes who made the supreme sacrifice for the territorial integrity of the country and those who are still fighting and the parents who brought up them.
When 'Lanka e News' queried about this from the military spokesman Brigadier Prasad Samarasinghe, he said 'We don't have such an army. The people know about our army'. He declined to comment further on the matter and said he does not have time to answer statements made by politicians.
A Major General with years of experience in the Northern warfront, who opted to remain anonymous said that the Army has more than 100,000 cadre and queried whether over 20,000 soldiers laid down their lives trying to water flowers. He said that he sympathises with this person who belittled the supreme sacrifice made by war heroes.
The officer said that he had served and is still serving the country under all governments without politics and insisted that the army is well trained and disciplined which could face up to the enemy.
At a time the army's moral should be boosted, insulting them in this manner should be condemned, he said.
It is very same army 'trained to water flowers' that crushed a terrorist organisation engaged in brutal killings of security force personnel and innocent civilians under the pretext of a so-called liberation struggle and this remark is an indication that their hatred for the army has still not been dispelled, he said.
Former military spokesman Major General Sarath Munasinghe, a battle scarred veteran said that it was this 'flower watering army' that doused the fire lit by the people making such remarks and prevent the LTTE from doing what they want |

Don't allow tiger activities
- Minister Bogollagama requests Commonwealth countries
01st July 2006 - 01:00 S.L.T
Minister Rohithe Bogollagama requested representatives of Commonwealth countries not to allow terrorists to collect funds or be active in their countries. Minister Bogollagama made this request addressing the Royal Commonwealth International summit. The summit which was held in London was attended by representatives of 35 countries which belong to Commonwealth.
Addressing the summit, Minister Bogollagama said President Mahinda Rajapakse and the Government are committed to find a lasting solution for the national question in Sri Lanka and to achieve this are prepared to hold talks with the tiger organization.
It is necessary that international community pressurize the tiger organization to come to the negotiation table said Minister Bogollagama. Hence, it would be helpful to curb terrorism in Sri Lanka if Commonwealth countries act to stop activities of the tiger organization in those countries added Mr. Bogollagama. Sirisanga;
If no comment, better not to talk. That meaning is not that. Army does not take necessary steps to prevent disastra. Someone has to point it out. |
