if you read any news that a tiger was arrested in south or killed in south pray for me. may be i am the one................
take it easy girl.
if you get a chance to Migrate run dont walk to the airport.
you should be fairly safe in the south but i know everyday the tension must be high.
i suggest you chk out the thomian thread where politics is banned but everything else is written there. truly a fun place! |

you state you have an education. Thats the ticket to freedom!!. lot of folks migrate although its getting toughter by the day.
another way is if youre not married or dont have a B/F to find someone OVERSEAS!. !
irrespective of tamil or sinhala i feel the country is shortchanging the next gen. when i shut down my PC ishut out lanka. but i guess for folks like you, naleen and a lot more folks in lanka Life is a real challenge living in circumstances most of the times beyond ones control. |

mmmmmmm, may be you are right. but i am not prepared to go any where from sri lanka.
as you told life here is beyond ones control. so i don't know in future i might want to migrate abroad. |

SLFP and UNP worked together when the opposition was the TULF. On all other matters UNP and SLFP were against each other.
SLFP/UNP working together.. well that's just your imagination, that's something that has never happened in Sri Lanka.
When TULF left parliament, UNP didn't need any SLFP or anybody else' support, they had 5/6 majority in the parliament.
re: ethnic ratios, do you know the Colombo, Kandy and Nuwaraeliya ratios between the period you quoted? They have changed much more dramatically than those in the east. YOu may have seen how it changed in Toronto during the past 20 years or so as well. Especially in certain areas in Nuwaraeliya, the ratio changed from 0-100%. Human movements do always keep happenning. These are only steps of the evolution. You guys raised a great hue and cry about the issue which contributed heavily to today's situation and still keep doing it..
