Jillballs,
Yes listen to Mahabola. 'Arrogancy arrogancy.' One of the root causes is arrogancy.
King Dutugemunu's time was different yes but I was referring to military solution. Similarly many think that we can solve this problem by defeating the LTTE militarily. We CAN defeat LTTE, this is not a problem.
But the problem will persist if we do not change our ways, attitudes, perception and as Mahabola says 'arrogancy.' Furthermore, if we are having the same bunch of politicians with the same political system, it will confound the problem. |

Bonggo,
I wasn't going to say anything as you didn't have any question or contradictions with my views. But thought I'd drop a line anyway.
Dutugemunu's story is one but there were many wars that Sri lanka won in the past. None of them have re-emerged, but submerged forever.
Examples are not needed, the war today is not an invasion but a consequence of discrimination, ignorance and other social issues over decades. They need to be addressed carefully now. Somebody has to take a strong action, it could be one of today's leaders but could be anybody else. A leader will only take a decision or perhaps will facilitate a decision, but the decision will have to evolve from a common platform representing all forms of people.
Individual arrogance and attitude may have had it's role, they will only play a small part in a final solution, and its implementation but the major issue today needs a political, well crafted solution. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like it's anywhere near us today. |

Mr Harris is disrobing Eelamists terror clothes.
We all know what that Motta Rala Ranil did when he was the PM now we are finding hard to come out of it. |

Sinhala:
tamileelam national animal leopard.
LTTE selected Kotiya as their symbol because they felt very inferior infront of lions.
their national animal (from the flag) is 'NANDI' - GONA.
You know what happens to 'Gona' infront of lion, if can stand without running away.
Some how tigers are now Hyenas. |

Those who are truly interested in this subject should note that this recording is at least two years old, so don't get too excited. A transcript of this speech of Harris's is published in WAPS's 'Peace in Sri Lanka: Obstacles and Opportunities', published January 2005.
Mind you, I do agree with the analysis. But trotting out two-year-old speeches as if they are news is as lame and ineffectual as the endlessly repeated Tamil complaint of massacre and discrimination. There is by now enough blood on the hands of the Sri Lankan Tamil community for them to have relinquished all claim to innocence.
And now, two years after this 'new' speech of Paul Harris, there is ample new material to make a more relevant and more contemporary analysis of the poison that is Prabhakaran. |

Mr Paul Harris should be commended for his bold encapsulation of the LTTE motives. He has not spared anything but unreservedly leveled his criticism of some of our leading politicians.
The link gives a comprehensive coverage from the perspective of a foreign journalist who is well known. It is mind boggling stuff and I can not comprehend as to why some of our politicians go to such low levels at their own peril in achieving their private goals. Shame on the bloody politicians who should take full responsibility in bringing our country in to a state of anarchy.
It is not surprising that Sinhalese are the minority in the region. Take a moment to check the INTERNET site Wikipedia-Tamil Nadu and listed amongst their greatest politicians is none other than Velupillai Prbhakaran. Doesn't it tell you something. It is very distressing.
