How many more lives do we have to sacrifice before Maninda make up his mind to be bold. Either to fight back or to be genuine in extending an invitation for peace.
We have already committed to take some steps before going for further peace talk. Mahinda must at least now understand that Peace is Peace and there is nothing called 'Honorable Peace'. |

Your type of peace good for your type of Sinhalese. We had peace when we were under Tamil rule during Elara times, we would have peace if we completely succumbed to Portuguese and Dutch rule. We had peace under british rule. But many Sinhala people did not want that peace. At least Elara, Poruguese, Dutch and British were legitimate rulers. But you are asking us to givie in completely to highway robbers and murderers. You as a Tamil may agree not I and many other sinhalese. |

If you can't get into your crooked mind what we are saying I'll give another example. If somebody bully me at school or work place, and if I give in to him at my expense (This expense may be very bloody or dirty) there will be peace around me but not for me. Is this real peace? Is it better to get my real freedom or have this dishonourable peace, which is in a sense a prostitution? |

Sinhalese sacrficed in the past for this honourable peace for everybody. Our history is full of wars massacres, sometimes rivers turn to blood. I don't think those Sinhalas all vanished now. Not only our history, entire world history is full of wars. None of these started by peace loving people. Genghis Khan came to destroy civilisations after civilization. If people succumb to these terrors world today would have been different. As long as there are people like Genghis Khan, Hitler, POl POt, P'akran, wars cannot be avoided. It is our duty to secure the country for all people, for Karuna's people, people like Ananadasagaree, Neelan Thruchelvam, Kadirgamar, for everybody. Not to make it secure for one megalomanic to exploit people. That may be the peace you want. But we cannot let that happen. |
