@Naleen,

You might know that itz impossible to give brains
for those who are stupid by birth, but here I still try
my best - without barking at everybody for everything -
criticising things where itz necessary & putting them in
the right track for the Sri Lankan cause.
I haven't seen something worth reading from you
for many months already, whatz happening to U?
NGOs not paying enough?

This is what we need, we don't want NO War.

Dracula,

No one denies that terrorism is something horrible. But what happens in SL is a repercussion for all the blunders done by Sinhala Leaders against the Tamils without giving adequate thought for the long term implications.

I really and sincerely hate and curse what is happening all around us but most of us are helpless as things have gone out of average people's hands.

But what the Sinhalese like you don't realize is the fact that there had been severe injustices done to the Tamils particularly in the N&E but vast majority of the Sinhalese don't know these as these news don't come out or twisted by the authorities.

On the other hand they built up hatred between the two races to keep them going on the one hand while the two races happy about killing each other.

Your expression is a good example of this hatred and the frustration. Any one, be they Tamils or Sinhalese, try to talk some logic or try to analyse in the present reality they are treated as terrorist or anti-Sinhalese. This is where the trouble is.

What one should do is to cope with the current situation taking into consideration the current reality. Living in the past will not take us any where and militarily we will never, ever resolve this problem. If we want total ruination then let us try military means.

I also believe that Sinhalese beside other beliefs also believe that the Tamils want to ruin them. This is just a lie or an unwarranted fear. Tamils don't think anything beyond their physical safety, fundamental rights, self respect and the ability to carry on with their day to day issues. It is rubbish for any one to say that they have the agenda to suppress the Sinhalese.

Of course the current Tamil militancy is very aggressive no doubt but again this is mainly due to mismanagement on the part of the Sinhala government. But up to now there is not a single honest attempt to come to terms. Do you mean to say Mahinda's utterance 'we are prepared to talk to tigers any time' carry any sense? It is just rubbish, an eyewash.

Also since Independence Sinhala government never ever honoured any of its commitments and most of their promises were bogus or just to get over some crisis. Most Sinhalese being the initial non-victims don't bother to read at depth or analyse or think deeply on these developments.

Just see almost 100% of the Sinhalese here are just talking of 'Tamil atrocities' and they refuse to think beyond that. They don't ask when this started, why it started, how it got aggravated, why it is unmanageable now and how logically we are going to handle it in the future.

Just look at you, you are only worried about LTTE violence and do not think any thing beyond that. But the Tamils in general have been putting up with these violence from 1956.

Our current crisis arose from the false belief that numerical superiority is the only key to dominance. But in modern world compromise is the only way out.

1983 RIOTS

1ST SECRETARY/AMBASSADOR OF THE SWISS EMBASSEY, A LADY.
Personally witnessed a Tamil man burning in front of the Fort Rilway station and another man seemingly helping to douse the fire. She stopped the car to go and try helpinging in any way. When she walked up to the spot, she was flabbagaterd that THIS BUGGAR WAS THROWING KEROSENE ON THE MAN IN FLAME!!

Such cannibalistic deeds were the encouragement for the development of LTTE and the diaspora support.

Anybody who challenges the incident are welcome to contact the Swiss embassey in Colombo and verify the presence of this Diplomat.

This episode took place during curfew. Very very Fair, my dear friends. Very reasonabl people.

Fairplay,

Your incident took place on that famous Kotti Friday. One body was found near the railway line at Ganemulle and being eaten by dogs and crows and later it was shifted to Ragama mortuary.

There was one guy though injured but pretending to be dead was brought to Colombo mortuary with other dead bodies. At the mortuary a doctor (I know him)who saw him prevented the labourers at the mortuary from taking him to the hospital. However, the labourers ignored him and took him to hospital. This guy is a surgeon now in Colombo and also an active member of the GMOA!

At Kalubowila hospital an injured Tamil sub inspector who was warded in the surgical ward was murdered within the ward by the Sinhala thugs.

These tragedies don't go deep into the psyche of some of the Sinhala people and some of them even call these as minor incidents caused by the sinhala thugs and hence of no significance! Then it is a wonder how the present killings of some Sinhalese become very significant to them?

This is where the tragedy lies. If there is deep, unbiased understanding among the majority of all the happenings and if they perceive them as human tragedies immaterial whether the victims are Tamils, Sinhalese or Muslims then I am sure things will be quite different in SL.

No one is prepared to look at this vexed issue from the outset but instead from a point most suitable for them.

Let us hope and pray that better wisdom prevails
