Hari capo, heta enda kathakaramu.
Hey srimal,
what do you mean not yet. see my quote above. thats a subtle proposal in my neck of the woods leaving just enough space to wiggle out gracefull if things dont work out.
here is a tip for a guy who also choose his own partner.
this kind of matters GO alone. If you need help you might be surprised at the end!
i always think in a society like ours where love marriages are just now being accepted one needs a lot of GUTS to go against the NORM. |

| I think dowry is a custom common to most south Asians until the society became more liberal, even today even if its love marriage the daughters father tries his best to give some money or land hoping the man would take care of their daughter. |

Anyone from East ??
* Karuna Group is also recruiting Sri Lankan children as soldiers
Wednesday, June 21, 2006, 13:42 GMT, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.
June 21, Colombo: Residents of the Eastern Province of Sri Lanka complain that the Karuna Group, the breakaway faction of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), is also recruiting and training child soldiers.
It is reported that the paramilitary group is capitalising on the story of the LTTE training civilians in self-defence and is abducting children from government-controlled areas in the East for recruitment to its ranks on the pretext that they too will be given self-defence training.
According to the reports from the Eastern Province, both the LTTE and Karuna Group have abducted hundreds of people from poverty-stricken villages, and the majority of the victims are underaged children. |

Priyanth,
It's pity that societies have a strong hold on it even in the 21stC.
My opinion is that Men who insist on dowries should be castrated LOL :-)
