LTTE responds positively, talks with Oslo peace envoys today

LTTE yesterday reaffirmed its commitment to a truce despite a surge in violence, but said the future of ceasefire monitors from Denmark, Finland and Sweden was still in the balance.
The LTTE said it would discuss the issue of monitors from European Union member states at a meeting today with Norwegian peace envoys.
The EU outlawed the Tigers last month in a move that cut off funding and was apparently aimed at forcing the rebels to the negotiating table.
`This is a matter that will be discussed today with the (Norwegian) facilitator,` LTTE`s peace secretariat chief S. Puleedevan told AFP from the rebels` political headquarters of Kilinochchi.
`We don`t want to say anything right now.`
The LTTE in talks with Norwegian envoys earlier this month said it did not want nationals from Finland, Sweden and Denmark in the 60-member Sri Lankan Monitoring Mission.
Norway and Iceland, two non-EU member states, also provide monitors to the SLMM to observe a shaky ceasefire that has been in place since February 2002 but is under pressure following an upsurge of violence.
Mr. Puleedevan said they have told Norway in writing that they support the ceasefire and want to continue with the peace process aimed at ending three decades of ethnic bloodshed that has claimed more than 60,000 lives.
The Tigers wrote to Norway following a letter from top Norwegian envoy Erik Solheim asking both Colombo and the LTTE to reaffirm their commitment to peace, after failing to arrange a face-to-face meeting between the two sides.
The government has already responded, saying it was committed to the ceasefire.

We thank LTTE for your cooporation. But it is important that you understand the civil life is more important than your scope of dictatorship.
Proceed toward democratic table in right philosophy, right attitude and right personality. I am sure you will get whatever you want and what ever innocent lives want.
God Bless Unitary Sri Lanka. |

The government made clear Monday, there is not, it insisted, a de facto State of Tamil Eelam. 'This remains a myth,' a government statement said.
But facts on the ground are hard to dispute. And the facts say 'state.'

The above video indicated how LTTE killed/punished army and police supporters in this tiny island.
This LTTE barbaric act of killing of this family is dual scoped:
1) The family has cooperated with army and police to find terrorist acts in the region. So LTTE wanted to eliminate the family.
2) LTTE understood the Tamil support and world's support to their weapon collection is gradually disappearing. So, LTTE wanted to get this lost support by convincing that such killing was done by Govenmental army. So, they give a publicity to the world via such unethical pictures. that is, LTTE have done this to get sympathy of Tamils living in abroad. These pictures have been taken immediately after killing by LTTE before even army and police reached to the incident places. After Armmy and police came to the location they have left forever.
Unfortunately, all human must condemn this barbaric act and this forum moderators must consider to remove the link from the forum.
On the otherhand, LTTE has doone a biggest disastra by LTTE killing of 63 innocent children, women and monks destroying the bus by LTTE mines. It is not reported because world immediateky understood the situation that LTTE has done it. Edited By - Mahabala - 20 Jun 2006 22:38:14 GMT |

Whenever they find that they are at a weaker position, they always responded positively and did all what others want them to do. In the mean time they made sure that their war base is strengthened.
This is one of the terror tactics LTTE used to spread their brutal action.
Innocent Tamil people in the world must realise that LTTE is not for the Tamils but to form their own kingdom at the expense of innocent lives of Tamils & Sinhalese. |

The LTTE owes it to the Tamils who have been damaged and pained by the EU ban, to keep within its boundaries and to keep out all those who do not respect those boundaries.
The credibility of Tigers as rulers of International standards is at stake here.

That is not true Sweet.
Before 83, all business sector were done by Jaffna Tamils. Suddenly LTTE (or any other group) started to kill 23 or many army in North. So, reaction was started against Tamils.
What LTTE and Government must do:
1) make some agreement to share poer between two groups.
2) make nice approach to unite the country.
I am sure all Sruttu + Tobacco stores will immediately spread.
One thin yous remember is that due to Buddhism or any other reason, Sinhalese will forget all past and unite with all again.
Do not disappoint or think bad about Sinhalese. I am not thinking such a way to Tamils. All my friends are Tamils. When an incident happened our faces changed. I understood that early stage so, I just call in them without such situations.
I have done my synthesis.
Besides research, lets try to work toward peace of lanka. This forum is really a good one.
THANKS A LOT FOR LANKAPAPERS.COM
Take care.
