Hi Websurfer

Jillball has a very good point. With Google Earth one should be able to see an airstrip. But SLMM said they cannot visit it and, therefore, they cannot confirm. Recently, however, they confirmed it without visiting.

Perhaps the US sent some photos to SLMM. So please don't say that they are doing their job impartially.

Mahinda Rajapakse administration shouldn't have agreed to disarmed Paramilitary groups which includes Karuna fraction. Karuna is an internal problem of LTTE.

GOSL team sent to Norway for first round of talks made a fundamental mistake. They panicked and agreed to something they couldn't keep.

*your gosl may have announced it's team to Oslo well be for the date.
*your nominated team may have come to Norway well before the fixed talks date.
*your team may have consists of scholars of international politics.
*your team may have brought the whole extended family to the Norway.
*your team may have asked a huge some of money from the public tax .
*your team may a well disciplined intellectuals.

who cares about your team and it's qualities?
while you call your country a democratic republic, the team had no ministers elected by the public!!
why should the ltte talk to some idiots picked up by the uneducated gosl from the gutter?
this is the reason uncle bala did not attend the meeting.

Hi Podda

Don't blame Nimal Siripala. It's like shooting the messenger. The President and PM should be responsible.

But as one SLMM member observed recently, given the choice who is going to stop another party attacking your enemy.

When things are hotting up I am sure GOSL would like Karuna to take care of LTTE at least from one side. So that they can engage LTTE from other directions.

In fact, I think there is another faction starting up in Mannar.

Very good tigeress19

Is Thamilchelvam the educated scholar then? OR is it someone else. Very interesting.

The ground rules of good negotiations are to notify the parties, accept them and talk even if you are poles apart. Otherwise you get marginalized.

All these people are screaming, karuna is ltte's internal problem, yet again they agreed in geneva 'no arm forces will be allowed to function apart from the gosl regular army in the gosl controlled areas.'

Geneva1 too a political victory for ltte. Geneva1, concluded, that the gosl will too disarm the karuna gang too. from that date the karuna gang is not an ltte's internal matter but it's the gosl's.

i just could not understand how the gosl and it's blind supporters trying to bury a massive pumpkin into their begging bowl!! it is time for a regime change in the south!!

Just because the SLMM can do more to condemn the Tiger tactics doesn't mean they are not right about this situation!

First Tiger supporters, government supporters need to ACCEPT that their group does so many things which ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE.

FIRST, JUST ACCEPT THAT!

Then we can start blaming and pointing the finger on the other group and blame those who fail to see the errors of our enemies.

The tendency on this forum is that we JUSTIFY THE ERRORS of our chosen group by pointing the finger on the other group without accepting that our chosen group too has it's errors/mistakes/weaknesses.

The government supporters are furious about this news, not because the SLMM is wrong, no just because they don't want to accept this. They want to hide the errors of the government by blaming the SLMM for not coming with more info on how bad the Tigers are...

Truth hurts, SLMM is impartial - you fool the world for sometime under the subterfuge of fighting terrorism. You cant fool all the time.

The Sinhala govts have done this covering up everytime the Tamils were murdered in riots and by forces. This is why we have LTTE. This is why the Tamils support them.

But the team was known and they accepted it. Anyway if you want to see TC and VP as scholars and world class negotiators that is your business. I think they are good fighters but average politicians poor negotiators.
For negotiations see below:

I firmly believe the political process is still opened to this enterprising race and they should use it not abuse it. I like to celebrate other cultures and I do think that you and your people deserve better leaders and better future.

God Bless!
